Converting LS1 to LT1 Brakes
ok, i know the ls1s are better, but im only doing this on the rear, so it wont make much of a diff...
I have a 12 bolt all set up for the LT1s, and i realllly dont feel like pulling axles, swapping backing plates blah blah blah...
from the looks of it, the only difference is the parking brake, LS1 ebrakes use the drum inside the rotor, while lt1s use a system directly in the caliper..
looking at my friends lt1, the hookup to the brake essembly is the same (wire attatched to an eye hook- lacking a better word)
The Problem-
the ls1 ebrake hook-thingy faces to the front of the car, so pulling the wire loops around tghe axle and pulls to the rear of the car, lt1 brakes pull to the center of the car, overall probably 3-5 inches less cable- per side
any ideas how to negotiate this extra length of cable (i dont want to spend any extra money on this, so buying a new cable is out of the question)
