Default Brakes just got hard, and car doesnt stop very well

I just picked up my 99 HO ss and i was driving around town today, and out of nowhere i tried to come to a stop and it was like the car was not even running. The brake pedal was very hard to push down, and the car did not want to stop. So i get out and pop the hood and make sure the booster line is connected, Yup its fine. fluid is fine. The really confusing part is that if i drive for just a little while without using the brakes they will go back to normal for 1 press of the brake pedal. Then they get hard again. WTF??? Any help is appreciated.

Defnitely sounds like a booster or vacuum issue.

Check the hose again, make sure its properly connected to the back of the intake, and that there are no leaks in it.

If the engine has good vacuum and the hose it good, the booster itself is probably bad. Brake boosters don't commonly go bad, but from what you describe, that sounds like the symptoms of a bad one.

Well guys i think you are correct, the engine has great vacuum, but the booster makes a horrid squeak when you turn off the car. Ill be replacing the booster shortly and let you know how it turns out. Thanks guys.
