2010 Camaro SS Brembos on a 4th gen? Anyone doing this? I ran across this thread on the thirdgen forums :

I really like those calipers but I'm thinking the 14" rotors would be too big to fit under a 18" wheel. Since these calipers are almost identical to the CTS-V calipers you could probably use a 13" rotor like people do with the CTS-V kit right?

You are probably right. I have been reading so many different threads about brakes I am sure I am getting confused 
After reading a little more, it looks like these calipers will bolt up to the spindle but the bolts used might be slightly larger than the CTS-V calipers. So I would need to bore out the mounting holes on the spindle lightly.
According to the CTS-V thread, (2) M12 washers must be used between the spindle and caliper on each bolt to properly center the caliper over the rotor. Guessing this will be the same?
Maybe I should just start buying parts and see what works? Slightly off-topic but what is a good site to get GM Parts? Am I better off just going to the dealer?

I did the CTS-v set-up with 14in rotors. I know ppl had discussed maybe using a 13in, but I have not seen it done successfully. Kore3 told me they could come up with brackets for 13in rotors and the CTS-v calipers for the REARs, they have done this for one customer already. The CTS-v requires the two washers as spacers, I am not sure about the 2010 brembos, I assume it would be the same, just with larger bolts, but once again I have not seen someone actually do it, just discussion about it.
I believe the 4-piston CTS-v were on back-order recently, not sure if that has changed.
One another note, the new CTS-v calipers are 6-pistons and from what I have heard, will bolt up similar to the 4-piston ones with a 14in rotor. I would be interested in this set-up bc the 6-piston make the previous ones look tiny.
I got my calipers used and the rotors from GMpartsdirect. I ended up using hawk pads, so I just went with where I found the best deal for those.

I'd be interested to see if these work just as well. They're the same casting looks like so it should fit. The thing is that these should be much easier to find through gm than the CTS-V ones.

I guess I will just buy the parts and see what happens. So I looked on GMPartsDirect... I feel stupid asking but is this right? It's saying $84.43 for each side. 2010 6.2 liter. All 6.2 liters are the SS models and all the SS models have the Brembo brakes right? $168.86 just seems *really* cheap for two Brembo calipers.
Also I should be buying the 2006+ Z06 rotors right? $68.63 a piece?

I stopped by the local dealership to get a price and they quoted me like $380 or something a side. So I am very skeptical about the GMPartsDirect price. I also found that a lot of people complain about their customer support and shipping times/prices.. Oh what the hell, I will place an order right now and see what happens. Just got my 18" C6 Z06 wheels installed last night so I gotta fill all that space

I just got what I think is a very good deal on a set of front brakes off a 2010 Camaro SS. Pulled off by SLP, includes 2 calipers, 2 rotors, 2 dust shields, brake pads and brake lines. I'm not sure if I can use the rotors or brake lines, but $350 for the whole kit was too good to pass up. Search ebay for "2010 Camaro SS V8 OEM Factory BREMBO Front Brake Kit"
they had 5 of them available (4 now)
Mods - If this post is a problem feel free to edit/delete it.
When the kit comes in I will try and post pics and do some more research on what is needed to get this installed.

I'm trying not to start a bunch of threads on this subject so I hope some people are following this!
Next question : I understand that people are using the 14" Z06 rotors with the CTS-V calipers. Does anyone know if the 14" 2010 Camaro SS rotors will fit on the 4th gen hubs?

Everything I have read says 18" is the smallest possible wheel size. You also have to check what offset you have on the wheel so the caliper doesn't hit the wheel spokes either. With a 54mm offset I think you need a 15mm spacer and longer wheel studs to do either of these swaps.

Just ordered the calipers, rotors and pads on Sunday. They are shipping from NJ so hopefully I should see them soon. I need to see if the SS rotors fit on my hubs. If they don't I need to order some Z06 rotors.

Just adding some more info here. When I get this job complete I'll make a nice pretty thread
Looks like the hub size on the 2010 SS Camaro is 67.1mm compared to the 70.5mm on the 4th gen Camaros. So the rotors will not fit without having the center bored out a bit. I'm thinking I will just pick up a set of Z06 rotors instead of getting a machine shop to bore these out.
