i started back in 04 or so with my first 1/10th HPI RS4 3 the moved to my 1/10th HPI MT2 then my 1/8th HPI Savage 4.6 then to my 1/8th Ofna Hyper 7 then i quit in about 06 and sold all my cars but my on road.
So a few days ago we had a power outage cause of a storm and it got me to start working on my RS4 3 and get back into the hobby but i wanted an off road truck so i just bought a O.S. .18 CVR motor and a HPI MT2 that has upgraded parts
i paid about 180 for both the engine and the truck
moded parts list: the guy says it has carbon diff/gear boxes, threaded shocks/shock bodies, HPI CVD'S and Titanium Upper links, also whati think looks like alloy front and rear uprights
That's sweet. I was about to by an LST2 but bought my T/A instead. Maybe one day I will get one, have been trying since I was like 12.

Yeah lol, $800 is body work and paint for my car, plus there is no place to use them around here.

I had a RS4 to keep me busy on something the year I had no car to mess with. Its fun to mod/ work on those little things. Every week I was at the hobby shop buying replacement parts. Once I got the SS it just sat in the closet so I ended up selling it, kind of regret it now though. Good luck with the truck man.
I have thought about getting my rc cars out and running them again. I was running the HPI Super nitro's on a 280 wheel base, also ran a nitro rs4 till I got a serpent impulse (spec 2000) and impact (spec 98). Back in 04 I started selling off my nitro off road trucks but I kept my off road electric buggys.
Looks like you also have a tc3 in the back ground or is it one of the newer rs4's

The weight argument it stupid, compare a Warhawk LS motor to a all aluminum BBC, the weight difference is worth it to me with the kazillion more cubes.
