Default Silverado or Colorado?

Story is, I currently have an 04 z71 silverado with 80K miles, new tires, and a nice stereo minus the deck that was stolen. The truck was broken into 2 weeks ago, in which they completely screwed up my door. Then out of anger I punched the shit out of my half door (4th door) b/c some jackass screwed up my 100 dollar rca's and stole my 500+ nav deck. The dent I made is pretty bad, I can bench over 300 lbs. and have taken mui tai and kickboxing for the past 7 years. The dent I made is bad enough that you can see knuckle imprints.

So it is gonna cost some cash to get everything fixed (my deductible is 1000).

While getting an estimate to fix everything I noticed a v8 09 colorado z71 crew cab with 4.10's, and some other good options (only has 10 miles). Well a salesman is giving me a pretty damn good deal on the colorado, about 2 grand below invoice, plus the 1000 bucks for my deductable could be put as a down paymant on a new truck.

So what is everyones opinion, get the v8 colorado for about 50 bucks more a month, or keep my truck and get it fixed? Has anyone driven one? I have always liked them, but know I'll miss my silverado. Now that they make one with a v8 it is even more convincing.

keep your truck. trading it in on that colorado would be a huge mistake. those micro trucks are worthless. gas mileage is as bad or if not worse than a fullsize. cannot tow shit with them. and not to mention lack of interior room.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Only have 2 more years left on the loan. Plus I have the title to the camaro. Would be nice to have no payments.

Was really eyeing a raptor, possibly next year. Any word on when GM is looking to release a smaller diesel in the half ton?

We had a nice car for the car bash at school and I punched it hard for fun, the knuckle imprints are neat.

Exactly what I was thinking. They are supposedly running and edge over 90 in the quarter.

Plus it's the 5.3.

I know you are just looking at payments, but the V8 colorados are rediculously expensive and will never live up to that on resale. I would imagine you could get a damn nice silverado for what they want for the Colorado. The new Silverado is a nice truck

I had the misfortune of having to drive a Colorado company truck for about a month. It was one of the most uncomfortable vehicles I have driven not to mention all the crap already wrong and malfunctioning at 26,000 miles, stay away.

Keep the silverado. Pay it off, then let it pay you back. Car payments get you nowhere in life, unless you are wealthy and its not a problem. We paid off our cars over a year ago and now have alot of extra money that I can spend on my camaro, its nice. Plus, a Colorado? Really, look in the mirror and realize what you are doing. They get shitty mileage, and are a small truck. Keep the real truck and get a punching bag, lol, jk.

Loooooooooooot of hate for a Colorado in here. About the same reaction I'd think as when the Aztek's came out. (fugly).

Haha, I have one, just the door was closer. I am extremely good at keeping my cool. Had to be, was a bouncer and a bartender through college and never got in to one fight. Twisted a few wrists, but never swung at anyone. When I saw my truck was broken into it was probably the maddest I have ever been so I lost my cool and took it out on the door. Scarred the crap out of my g/f.

Think I'm going to pass on the colorado, although a v8 colorado sounds tempting. I was getting a deal for a tad over 25k when the sticker was 32K. I sat in an 09 z71 Silverado and loved it. So I told them how much I was willing to pay, so I'm letting the deal cook. If I don't get the deal I'll fix the door and then keep my 04 Silverado.

I learned the hard way that baby trucks are worthless and they get crap gas mileage.
