Default change oil light

won't go off, every time i start the car it comes on after about 30 seconds give or take it goes off. Anyone know whats up?

put the keys in "run " mode but don't start it . and hold down the trip button and until the lights flashes off

Its the system telling you that its time to chaing the oil. If you did already, then you have to manualy reset the oil light. Do as jaysan posted, also... may want to check in your glove box, look for the little book in there, and read it!! Lol, jk, but it does tell you that in there.

Isn't there a way to reset it using the brake pedal or gas pedal or one of them pumping it a couple times? I remember in my mom's silverado that's what the trick was.
That apply to fbody's too?

On the Silverado you turn the key on and pump the gas pedal. I think you can do that with F-bodies also. I just hold the trip button in.

yeah you can just turn the key to on and pump the gas pedal i think 3 or 5 times within 5 seconds.

Sorry I was watching south park and not thinking when i was typing, It came on didn't change it for a couple of days after because i was waiting for my ramps back from a friend, finally got them back changed it but it stayed on. Yeah I just did the reset thing it worked just fine thanks for the help everyone.
