| How to Bend Tubing? I've made a die the same diameter as the tube, filled with sand and caped the ends. And it still kinked, is there anything else I can do or is this a lost cause?
Thanks. |

| Might depend on what kind of tubing you're bending.
Go here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=55
and search for
bend tubing
or similar. Those guys are serious about their tubing bending, benders, etc. Good site, good forum. Lots of good info in there, both on the cheap and the good tool stuff.

| I'm trying to bend 1.5 x .060" 304 tubing, from a cheap tube bender, with a die I machined.
Thanks. |

| what kind of bender? most tube bender die sets have a very snug fit for the tube, and the follower block is specifically machined to keep pressure on the back side of the bend. do not lube the die set as this will cause to tube to slip and kink. lube the follower block only......lightly w/ wd40. again i dont know what kind of bender your using so this may not apply. can you post a pic? or describe it

| You might try fabbing yourself a mandrel
pole. That bends against the die from the
inside to mimimize the crush-in.
