Default My lift is up!

I'm so excited, I just wanted to share. My lift is up! I bought it form a shop that was downsizing for $400 last summer. I was seriously injured in a bike accident last August and have been and continue to be disabled, so when a friend of the family came by last weekend to put it up for me I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. It's nice to see the pieces up off the floor and operational. It's also a big incentive to work harder at therapy to get back in the saddle again. The only thing left to do is remove a section of the loft in the garage so I can get full height. Here's a few pics. The garage is a nightmare, but as soon as I'm healed it's going to be awesome!

Awesome, but one word of caution, since its a used lift make sure everything is a OK before having another incident, remember safety first, that camaro falling on you would not be pretty. Your life is worth more than $400, IMHO

Thanks for looking out guys. All of the safety features work perfectly. It's got safety catches as well as a brake set-up if the cable breaks. The guy was using it up until I showed up to pick it up. My buddys didn't plan on helping him break it down, but for $400 I wasn't going to argue and for burgers and beers, my buddies weren't either!

very nice,
I'm looking for one as we speak. do you know how thick your slab is . I'm trying to decide if I need to cut holes in the concreat and make the slab thicker in the areas where the towers wil mount.
Nice find.

The guy I bought the house from was a long time Grumman employee and had a machine shop in the garage. He built it, with from what I can tell, almost a foot thick slab. Way overkill. I think you need at least 4", but don't quote me on that.

Do you have the manufacture and model number? I've always see lifts way over 10 feet tall, i didn't know they made them that short. I might be able to cram one in my garage!!

I'll see if I can find one. All I do know is it's an older piece and heavy as all hell! This thing isn't stamped steel, the posts are solid I beams. I'll let you know.

Sorry, but I can't find any indication of manufacturer or model number. I can't climb a ladder to look up around the pump though. I spoke to the guy I bought it from and he can't remember a brand name, but he said it's pretty old and he doesn't think they make them anymore.
