does the club discount only hand tools or anything with the craftsman name on it, like a dry/wet vac?

I've joined that damn club three times. AND I HAVE YET TO GET MY CARD. Takes a few weeks to get your card he says. MY EYE IT DOES. I've been waiting for years and I'm done waiting. Anyway I'm about tooled out. The only tools I buy now are the specialty tools that craftsman dosn't have. I get the ones I need now from that rip off artist in the Snap-on Van. I limit those because I get an ear full when I get home. WIFE.

I've had to call them and send me a replacement card since it didn't come in the time they told me to and I got it yesterday in the mail.

On the other hand, you can request for your account # and it still works any sears store.

the guy at sears said i didn't need to wait for my craftsman club card.
They can just look you up by your phone number!

Now go buy stuff!

(on top of all of this my dad retired from Sears and has 10% off everything everyday)
woohoo!

Thanks, just joined the club. The bearings on one of my Craftsman ratchets just went out after many years of faithful service, Sears replaced it in two minutes, no questions asked! I have yet to find a better tool/unconditional warranty around.

Tool Days going on right now through Saturday, 3/12/05. I just picked up a 20' fiberglass extension ladder and 12 gallons of Weatherbeater Ultra housepaint (summer project) over the weekend. Saved $20 on the ladder and almost $100 on the paint

BTW, I joined the Club back on September 28 of 2004 and still don't have my card. I've called twice and still nothing. So far, I've just been using my card number or my phone number at the stores with no problems. I think I'll call again and see what they tell me this time...

I went to sears on Saturday (May 14....craftsman days) and bought a 10mm wrench I had lost. Anyways, they didn't give me my 10% off. Apparently now you only get 10% off stuff listed in the monthly catalog, not everything. Kinda ticks me off.

I have a few friends that work for them. As mentioned the savings are only what is in the mailed flyer now. Since the merger/purchase of K-mart, Sears has been doing some goofy things.

The 10% off anything is gone, however, I was told if enough 'members' wrote and complained they may do it once a year/2x/quarterly or some such. They don't think it'll come back monthly again. Shame really.

So write in and bitch, 4 times a year is better than no times a year.

I noticed this last weekend that one of my local Sears stores that used to stock a lot of air tool accessories has dramatically cut down their stock. They barely had any open stock impact sockets at all now. Wonder if this is a sign of things to come...
