Default looking for lifter tools.....

I'm looking for a set of lifter tools someone is willing to sell, I'm really only interested in the JRP tool. So maybe ya got a set you only used once, and if the price is right, i'll take them. Hit me up with a PM or e-mail.

that or get the round iron stock. They have that too. Just cut it in half and maybe point one end so it will go in easier. Thats what i did. Think i was out about 5 bucks as well.

so are the JRP tools that crappy? Money really isn't the issue, I just want a tool that works..........

I will probably just buy them. I already got the Tim's tool?? spring compressor. will probably just buy the JRP rods. I can probably re-sell them after i'm done for at least 1/2 of what I paid.

Damn. I just got my cam installed. Ended up using the pen magnet method. I tried spinning the cam, but the lifters wouldn't go high enough to lock into the trey. Pulling them up with a pen magnet produced a noticeable detent and they stayed, although I still left the magnet attached.

I first tried some wooden and steel dowl rods, they won't hold the lifters up high enough, basically just insurance against total failure of the pen magnets and not letting them fall all the way out.

Total spent on pen magnets was $35.00, so that really wasn't that bad! Combined with the cost of the Tim's Tool spring compressor, about $80.00 total. And that valve spring compressor rocks! Springs under the cowl on pass. side were a breeze.
