why di i have old threads bumped first in all the section + before entering i see the the last msg was sent today and when i enter i see that the last msg was 2005.
This is when you use search, right? Because if so, it sorts by relevancy unless you tell it to search by "last posting date." If you searched by last posting date like I think you said, then your results might still be old. I mean, if it was last talked about in 2005, then that will be the posts it finds.
If you're getting old threads in the main section... I've never heard of that problem.
Try to articulate when you're having this problem. Because, search and the site doesn't have this problem for me.

Your example is one that could be considered a "bug", but you are seeing the very last legitimate post in that thread. Meaning, the thread was moderated and that left the last post information "incorrect".
The reason why it shows a new post at 8:05AM your time is because the "last post" information is out of date. There was a post there, but it was removed. Normally when a post is removed it doesn't do that, but there is one method of removing posts that causes that issue to appear. To prevent that, a script is suppose to be ran to rebuild that information. Given the size of the forums and the minor issue that is, the Administration probably doesn't believe it's a necessary action.
The real reason that old thread popped up was because somebody voted on the poll. Members never ever ever ever use the close date on polls, I try to get the staff to put a limit on days, around 10 - 30 days.

Sorry, Craig, my bad. I forgot about the obvious poll function. The "TGTC" can behave the way the issue appeared here if the rebuild script is not ran.
