| ls7 clutch question My clutch is slipping bad so I was thinking on a replacement and I was told to go with the ls7 clutch. If i get the whole kit (fly weel, clutch plate and pressure plate) will i need any thing else to put it on my ls1? Where would be the best place to get one from? Thanks.

| its a great economical clutch, just make sure to add a shim behind the slave cylinder, to make sure you have proper disengageof the clutch. also we can get you a ls7 clutch kit with the shim needed no problem. give us a call!

| what type of disengagement issues are there? feeling? if you don't mind sharing i just got mine installed and something don't feel quite right i can't pinpoint between air in the system or something else along the lines of slave cylinder... it feels like air because pedal is spongie until halfway down, or engaging/disengaging issues as it seems to jump when pedal is let up about 1/4-1/2 inch doesn't feel like the stock one at all... any help would be great |

| The common disengagement issue is that the clutch disengages right off the floor. |

| I had the shim from the SPEC S1 I got, Once that went out I bought the LS7 kit from Some site, I think it was BynSpeed or something and Installed it with NO shim. My engages right a little passed the half way point on the top part.
It did engage a little low when I had just installed it but about 80 miles later is came back up. Its a great clutch. It grips like nobodies business. I had a remote bleeder but removed it. Once I installed everything back together, just pump the hell out of the pedal and Presto, No bleeding at all. Have not had one issue yet, almost a year now.

| I took mine to CMS. my clutch and master were fucked. They gave me a GREAT price on the kit. And made me a custom shim. It drives great now, and i get plenty of throw. Feels almost like stock. we will see how it holds power.

| most i do it engages right off the floor, and there are issues with it going into gear, because of the improper disengagement, it better to just install the shim then eat up some synchros

If thats true, I sure hope you are not trying to remove the trans with the bell housing attatched. By myself I can Have the Trans on the flood in about 45 minutes from the point of driving it into my garage.
Thank gawd for long extensions
