Default Dave is at it again

Some of you may remember my LED LT1 tail lights that I made. I did them because i could not find any Camaro Tail Lights that i liked better than LT1 style, but they werent modern enough for me.

well same goes for the headlights. there are the projectors on ebay, but they are all ricey with the white LEDs and halos. I decided to retrofit projectors into my catfish eyes, but using C6 projectors.

These are just the start, im currently waiting for the resin to set up that will seal the proctor cups into the assembly, then ill do the high beams, then ill work on the front to make it look pretty.

EDIT: I added new pics from doing the other headlight. this is the start to a how-to.

This was the source of the pojectors and HIDs, C6 headlights:

The projectors removed:

I cut out the mount only for the headlight portion and threw away the high beams mount:

heres where i cut on the camaro headlight:

Post cutting:

With the projector mount pressure fit:

And the high beam projector directly bolted and siliconed into the housing:

Here is the headlight mount with it sealed in place. I used clear casting resin:

Now see my next reply for the next steps, which have already been done on the other side.

So here is a continuation, but of the other headlight which is about 85% done:

With the headlight projector mounted:

taped and ready for fiberglass:

'glassin:

'glass dried, tape removed:

some cutting done:

more cutting done:

Some Bondo done, this is the most tedious process:

more sanding and etching primer

Painted and almost ready for final assembly

Keep us posted, might have to meet up with you to finish mine off. I actually use a Heiniken beer can to block the light from beam out of the sides.

I'll post more pics from home.

the car is for sale still. This is just some stuff that im fooling around with. these headlights might be for sale if my car sells, but im building them with intentions of using them on my car.

Matt, im working on your stuff. your panels mount differently than mine, so the posts come apart more easily on yours. im working on making them stronger.
