Toying with the idea of letting go of my Z; Red, 88,xxx miles, m6, hardtop, K&N CAI, SLP Loudmouth stainless steel catback (1 yr old), SS hood, chrome 5 spoke SS wheels -- about 50% tread left on the tires, clear corners and gloss black paint instead of the standard matte up front. It has never seen a track or dyno.

Now for the wear and tear, there are two issues: paint, and the upholstery on the roof is drooping. As is to be expected from being on a college campus, the paint has suffered some damage, although no one has hit it hard enough to do body damage, the front has been flexed slightly causing some spidering in the paint along the front bumper as well as a bit of paint loss, driver's side quarter panel has a gash from what I believe was a shopping cart, and the rear bumper got a love tap at some point causing spidering and the loss of a couple inch chunk of paint. Beyond the places where it's been hit, there is slight rock chipping along the doors, as is to be expected on a 14 yr old car. The paint itself is not faded and was in great condition prior to be brought onto campus and abused by the... wonderful individuals... with whom I share parking.

It doesn't make sense for me to repaint the troubled areas until after I graduate, and by that time I hope to be upgrading anyway. I've done my best to take care of the car, it's been my baby for awhile now. Oil changed every 3000, just replaced the spark plugs <1 mo ago, and I changed out the thermostat over the summer. Other than the plugs and the thermostat, I have had zero mechanical problems with the car over the 5 years I've owned it and it runs great.

Prior to my ownership, the car had never been in an accident, and had been maintained meticulously. Since owning it I've had to replace the front end twice due to low speed collisions in my high school's parking lot (no damage beyond the hood/fender/bumper) and the quarter panel once, courtesy of my sister backing into it in our driveway.

Thoughts on what it's worth?

With it needing paint- kinda a tough market for these cars- there are alot of really nice examples of lt1 cars that are clean cars- for the 5-7k mark.. 3-4, possible 4500..(cause it is a stick..) ??
