ummmm............ I cant recomend it since Nitto doesnt but I can tell you they look great and fit fine. I have zero worries they will fail to to being to wide

yes they do fit like shown above. I have installed a set on some factory SS wheels. I can say however that all tread will not be on the ground which makes this almost stupid to spend the extra money on something that you do not get its full potential out of it. If i were you i would save that extra money on the bigger size and install one that will fit and get the full use of the tire.

I got these because the 275s look smaller then the front 275 GY F1s wich is stupid looking.
Also your are right about the tire tread, but thats at full pressure. At the track or even aired down on the street they do show wear almost to the edge of the treads

SPEEDLINE type T/A Wheels 17x9.5? & 315/35x17 Nitto DR's
Well I bought a pair of SPEEDLINE 17" T/A wheels with like new 315/35x17 Nitto DR's from a fellow forum member almost 1 yr.ago.
Were on the car till they were done,(Dec '08, thru Oct.10,09 which was my last trip driving to the track and racing with them).
I've been fortunate enough to make a few Finals in the PBIR Challenge Series, and I drive my Formula approx. 120 miles roundtrip to the track.
They were on the car for about 4000+ miles, and I went & raced the car 9 times since putting them on last January.
This is not to pat myself on the back, Just letting it out there, that these tires had full footprint at the track with 19-20lbs w/best 60' at 1.66-1.68 range.
Once on the Street I drove them allover and at highway+ speeds and eventually put them back to a 25-26 lbs.
Footprint and wear were even.
They're done as I mentioned, but still on the rims, tho off the car until I buy another set if anyone wants to see them.
No Problems & Car handled great.
Btw, I believe these OEM SPEEDLINE wheels are 9.5" wide.
just dont do it, as stated the tread will curve up so you arent getting the full potential of the tire. i have 275 Nitto 555Rs on 17x9s, they look fine and hook well.

But They Don't.... no matter what anyone says, unless you're living it why comment on it.
Stuffing a tire on a rim has been going on for decades, and tho that doesn't make it right in most cases, once in awhile as a 315/35x17 Nitto 555R put on a 17x9 wheel, it does. And functions very well on the Pontiac T/A Speedlines rims.
This is how my old set looked on OEM SS rims. Wore all the way untill the edge where the tire curves
