Camaro & Firebird Fitments
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bolt Pattern

5 x 4.75" or 5 x 120.65 mm

Lug Nut Size

19 mm socket (6 sided socket preffered over 12 sided sockets) 3/4" will work in a pinch.

12 mm X 1.5 pitch commonly marketed as M12X1.5 - Recommend a "Bulge Cone Seat" style lug nut.

Wheel Fitments

The numbers in the columns are as follows:

WIDTH ..... OFFSET ......... WIDTH OF TIRE

Front and Rear

7.0" ..... +35 to +40 mm .... 215, 225, 235
7.5" ..... +35 to +45 mm .... 215, 225, 235
8.0" ..... +38 to +55 mm .... 225, 235, 245
8.5" ..... +38 to +45 mm .... 235, 245, 255
9.0" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275
9.5" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275, 285
10.0" ... +38 to +48 mm .... 265, 275, 285

REAR Only

10.0" ... +38 to +54 mm .... 275, 285, 295
10.5" ... +38 to +50 mm .... 285, 295, 305, 315
11.0" ... +45 to +56 mm .... 305, 315, 335

NOTE: 315 series tires DO NOT fit 9" or 9.5" wheels. It will not be discussed any thread posting will be edited, locked or deleted.

PLEASE READ @ 315's

Z06 Corvette Replicas:

17"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm no problems. 275/40R17.

18"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm 275/35R18 or 285/35R18.

18"x10.5" +50 to +53 mm. Higher than 53 mm will require the BFH mod. 285/35R18s thru 315/30R18. Over 295 may require rolling the fenderlip and will need the BFH. +58 mm is the typical available offset for the Z06 replica, which will require a little BFH and/or a small spacer.

Y2k Corvette Replicas:

17"x8.5" +56 mm

17"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm

18"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm

17"x11" Wheels

ZR-1 Style for Camaro +50 mm (Known as Grand Sport offset)
ZR-1 Style fo Firebird +36 or +50 mm The wheel well on the "bird" is a little wider.

American Racing TT-2's +45 mm

With 17"x11"s there is always a possibility of needing the BFH and/or fender rolling mods with 315s. If lowered, an Adjustable Panhard Bar becomes a virtual necessity. Some have used the +38 offsets with an 11" wheel but it does stick outside the fender and is definitly not recommended on lowered vehicles. +50 and +56 are the two most common. +50 is the better fit (for the ZR-1 replica).

For road race only applications a 17"x11" at all four corners can be made to fit.

Pontiac GTO Fitments
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bolt Pattern

5 x 120 mm

Lug Nut Size

19 mm socket

12 mm X 1.5 pitch commonly marketed as M12X1.5 - Recommend a "Bulge Cone Seat" style lug nut.

Wheel Fitment

+48mm is the stock offset. (Same as most wheels for BMW's and many Audi and other euro cars.)

WIDTH ......... OFFSET ........... WIDTH OF TIRE

Front and Rear

7.0" ............ +26 to +65 ........ 215, 225, 235
7.5" ............ +33 to +61 ........ 215, 225, 235, 245
8.0" ............ +39 to +55 ........ 225, 235, 245
8.5" ............ +45 to +48 ........ 235, 245, 255

REAR Only!
8.0" ............ +36 to +65 ........ 245, 255
8.5" ............ +42 to +65 ......... 245, 255
9.0" ............ +48 to +65 ........ 255, 265, 275
9.5" ............ +55 to +64 ........ 265, 275 (body mods are required)

OFFSETS GREATER THAN SHOWN ABOVE WILL RUB ON REAR
FENDER LIP. (25MM FENDER LIP)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you did something a bit out of the ordinary...please add to this post.

For wheel size help, this chart will tell you roughly what fits with the least modification. It is not exactly flawless since some wheels and tires are not exact fit like one would expect.

* BFH = Big F'king Hammer (FYI)

A very special THANKS to our members for contibuting to the table!

Oh, new question, what would be involved in fitting 20s on all four unless that is unrealistic. Someone mentioned the 20x8 Iroc Z or 20x9 Iroc Z Chrome on all four but I think he was just trying to make a sale. Any thoughts?

AS long as the offsets fall in the same catagories as above, the diameter of the wheel has no affect. Although 20's are just way too big. The side walls on the tires are no existant. 19 is the biggest I'd ever go.

What does +35/+40 mm mean?

I know its the offset, but what do the two numbers mean? I thought it was just one. Is it a range?

Another Q... I test fitted 17x9.5 Z06's with a 54mm offset on the front of my car. They are less that 5/8" from rubbing the top of the spindle. Is that normal since it was up in the air?

That's normal. That wheel fits almost identical to OEM SS wheels.

does anyone know if 295/30/19's or 315/25/19's will fit on the rear of a 98 Camaro?

Depends on the wheel. If 295's on a 18" wheel fit and 315's on a 17" wheel fit, than the different size wheel diameters don't matter.

if the wheel has the right offset. there is no 315 tire for a 19" wheel. I have Pirelli 305/30/19s and they do not rub.

Todd what's a BFH mod...what does it do and how does it make the 10.5's fit and what size tires are best on the Z06 10.5's?

If I'm correct, BFH means Big Freaking Hammer. Meaning you have to hammer the wheel well in order to have your tires fit. The offsets that need BFH mod are listed in the very beginning by Xsta

BFH - Big F'king Hammer.

The need for it varies. Depending on the combination of the wheel, offset, tire size - even the car. It sounds scary but its no big deal.

bfh = big freakin hammer. Its used to massage the inner fenderwell in a couple MM when you have the 10.5s with 56 or higher offsets, and 285 or bigger tires. The 17x11 and 315 guys do this as well. As you are looking at the wheel (drivers side) the position that needs massaging is approx at the 9oclock position. 295-35s look great out back

Where does backspacing come into play? I am looking to get a set of 18 x 9.5", 49MM OFFSET w/~7" backspacing (BS) at all four corners. Should this be fine? The only portion I'm unsure of is the BS.

Xsta or Todd, I've found a set of 18x10.5 Z06 Motorsport wheels. The sales person says that it has a +54mm offset and that none of his customers have had any problems.
What do you think? Will a +54 offset on all 4 corners work without spacers, BFH, or rolling lips? If so, would it be better to use 275s or 285s x35xZR18s on all of them. What tire pressure for daily driving, or is what the manual says ok, 32psi.
