Chevrolet Camaro 2010-2015: How to Change Spark Plugs and Wires

The spark plugs and spark plug wires can directly affect the performance of your Chevrolet Camaro. Learn how to replace them here.

The spark plugs on your Chevrolet Camaro should be replaced every 30,000 miles. As normal maintenance, you should regularly give a visual check to the spark plug wires to ensure they are in a good condition. Bad wires or plugs will affect the performance of your vehicle; in fact, they could prevent your car from even starting. So if you don't remember the last time you've replaced your plugs or wires, this could be a good time to do it. Read on to learn how to replace your spark plugs and their wires in the Chevrolet Camaro.

Chevrolet Camaro 2010-2015 How to Change Spark Plugs and Wires

Materials Needed

  • Deep socket
  • Spark plugs set
  • Spark plug wires

Step 1 – Remove engine cover

The engine cover is held in place by a few clips. Gently pull it up to remove.

Step 2 – Remove spark plug wires

The spark plug wires are connected to the spark plugs on one end, and to the coil packs on the other end. Wiggle the wire left and right as you pull it away from the coil pack, then do the same for each spark plug to remove all the wires.

Step 3 – Replace spark plugs

Use your socket to remove the spark plugs; you may need an extension for the ones in the back. Install the new spark plugs and torque them to 11 lb/ft.
