The Corvette universe is filled with special projects and unique experiments. From perfectly preserved classics to beautiful restomods, track cars, and drag builds, there's a Corvette for everyone out there. For those who absolutely need to have the best traits of two legendary generations of Corvette is one car, there is this Kar Kustom 2008 Corvette we came across on Streetside Classics.

Karl Kustom Corvette Convertible

Karl Kustom has been famous for creations like this one. They take modern LS-powered Corvettes with all the current suspension and chassis technology and they reconfigure the look of the exterior to resemble the iconic characteristics of the C2 Corvette.

Top-Notch Quality

Those familiar with Karl Kustom know that these guys have absolutely immaculate attention to detail and quality. Every panel is hand-fitted to perfection, giving these custom creations a clean look throughout.

Proportions

Proportionally, however, the C2 and the C6 are very different cars. And some would argue that the form language and design DNA of the C2 are much better fitted to the unmistakably pure silhouette of the 1960s Corvette.

Modern Performance

On the other hand, we can't deny the proven performance of the C6 Corvette.  The reliably powerful LS3 V8, as well as all the marvelous handling capabilities of the 2008 'Vette, provide inherently superior performance on the road and on track.

And of course, the structure of the C6 provides much more than just significantly more safety than older 'Vettes. It also features modern tech and creature comforts to make day-to-day driving much easier in comparison to a classic.

Interesting Compromise?

So for those who are diehard fans of the legendary look of the C2, this Karl Kustom Convertible Corvette provides a great solution. In the end, it may not look exactly like either the C2 or the C6, but it's an interesting creation for those looking for a more unique Corvette.
