A Fish out of... water?

This car is subtle but still grabs your attention in a way that is akin to that girl in the high school themed movies that is beautiful but frumpy. The car was bought bone-stock from an older woman who had kept it in great shape but that OEM goodness didn't last long. Richard "Fish" Fisher, the S14's owner, remarked, "One of my best friends and I originally split this car. It was unmolested and we turned it into a beginner drift car with your basic SR20, coilovers, diff, and of course an obnoxious body kit. That was about five years ago now."

More freedom means more changes

That split ownership came to an end when that friend made a to China and Fish bought him out of his share. Since then the S14 project went even further by ditching out the stock SR and installing an LS2 into the car for those delicious gains. "The reason I did an LS2 swap into the car is simple: power and reliability with ease," Fish says. "I don’t care what anyone says – a nearly stock LS is as bulletproof as can be. It has been through hell and back with me, without a hiccup."

From LS2 to boosted LS1

"That car has taught me all I know about drifting and the culture behind it. It will always stay with me, no matter what condition. From tandeming with all my Risky Devil buddies to racing my father down the highway (and winning), the S14 has done it all."

Fish then went and made another change to the S14 as the car continues to evolve, there is now a supercharged LS1 under the hood that makes 560 horsepower to the wheels.

Rocket Bunny alterations

The exterior of the car pops in an amazing way with its two-tone paint job; the gloss black roof and pillars sitting atop the blood red paint that the car is awash in. Pushing things further is the Rocket Bunny Boss kit that makes the S14 look like a JDM version of a classic muscle car.

On the interior are fixed-back bucket seats complemented by Takata Racing harnesses that are enclosed by a full FD specification rollcage. The detachable steering wheel hangs ominously above the driver's head from the roof like a piece of emergency equipment on standby.
