Mainstream Muscle Car now rolls with the Big Boys

When Dodge unveiled the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat back in 2015, it made headlines across the country because never before had a mainstream muscle car achieved such high horsepower numbers. This power range had previously been considered as supercar territory. Well, that was then. Enter the Stage II Yenko Camaro, developed by New Jersey-based Specialty Vehicle Engineering. The Stage II Yenko Camaro boasts a mind-boggling output of 1000 horsepower, which is just 140-hp shy of the legendary Koenigsegg Agera R and 184-hp shy of the top-rated Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. Specialty Vehicle Engineering is not new to the production of customized specialty performance cars. It has produced thousands of such specialty vehicles exclusively for General Motors over the last three decades. Therefore, you can count on the high build-quality of the Stage II Yenko Camaro.

Outrageous Engine

The engine of the Stage II Yenko Camaro starts out as a direct-injection, small-block 6.2-liter LT-1 V8 engine that makes 455 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 455 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. The folks at Specialty Vehicle Engineering modified it, giving it a displacement of 6.8 liters and adding exclusive components like a forged 4340 steel crankshaft and forged aluminum pistons that are super-strong and durable. They also used H-beam steel rods that are well-suited for high-horsepower applications, and they also fitted it with a high-output custom supercharger. The engine of the Stage II Yenko Camaro also features CNC ported LT-4 cylinder heads and a customized fuel system with upgraded fuel injectors. This custom-built engine produces 1000 horsepower and 875 pound-feet of torque. This output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission with a short throw shifter and Active Rev Matching, which anticipates downshifts with throttle blips for smoother shifting.

Worthy Foundation

The Stage II Yenko Camaro is based on the Chevrolet Camaro SS with the 1LE track package – a worthy foundation for a 1000-horsepower engine. Some of the features that the Stage II Yenko Camaro gets with this foundation include a large front splitter and a three-piece mounted blade-style rear spoiler, both of which help increase downforce during acceleration. This car also features a standard Magnetic Ride Control™ suspension system that is programmed to assess road conditions 1,000 times per second and perfectly adjust the dampers for precision handling. This means that you are assured of superb ride quality even in the most aggressive driving settings. The Magnetic Ride Control™ suspension features three 3 settings: Tour, Sport, and Track. Track mode takes your driving experience to another level, quickening the steering system and stiffening the suspension system for an enhanced response while also opening up the exhaust system. Another feature that the Stage II Yenko Camaro gets with this foundation is an electronic limited-slip differential that senses the traction needs of each wheel in real time and distributes torque to the wheels that have better traction to enhance handling and control. This Camaro also benefits from performance-oriented FE4 suspension tuning that further sharpens the car’s handling, making it truly track-worthy.

YENKO® Calipers, Customized Exhaust System and Head-turning Wheels

For confident stopping capability, this car comes fitted with massive YENKO® badged brake calipers that can be had in a variety of colors. Red is the standard color for the calipers. You are also sure to like this car’s 5-spoke alloy wheels with black-finish spokes and sYc® center caps. This car also boasts 295/30 ZR20 front and 305/30 ZR20 rear Michelin PS4S performance tires that offer exceptional road grip. The Stage II Yenko Camaro also features a customized dual-mode stainless steel exhaust system with high-flow cats and long-tube headers. This exhaust system delivers fierce, full-throated roars that will be sure to wake the neighbors up.

Styling Features

The Stage II Yenko Camaro also has stunning exterior styling with many unique features that set it apart from other Camaros. It has YENKO® crest badges on the hood, the rear decklid, and next to the front fenders. It also features a color-keyed carbon fiber hood with a stripped, non-functional scoop that is finished off with sYc® graphics. This car also features YENKO/SC® side stripe graphics that can be had in Gloss Black, White, Flat Black, Yellow, Red, Hugger Orange, or Silver. You can also request for other custom stripe colors. On the inside, this car is equipped with YENKO/SC® doorsill plates, ‘YENKO® Crest Supercharged’ embroidered premium front floor mats, and faux leather seats with sYc® graphics.
