Bureko 6x6 is a Very Angry Silverado

The Bureko 6x6 is arguably the biggest, baddest truck that has come along in recent years and has a massive price tag to match.

Not Your Average Truck

Bureko was founded on the idea of producing vehicles that combat the forces of boredom and idleness by supplying customers with an experience like no other. Known for their previous off-road trucks based on Hummers and Land Rovers, the Czech company has shifted its attention to turning Chevy Silverados into ultimate 6x6's capable of conquering any terrain.

Bigger is Better

As mentioned, the Bureko 6x6 is said to begin life as either a 1/2- or 3/4-ton Chevy Silverado truck. Bureko is willing to build the 6-wheeled beast out of the smaller double cab offering from GM, but are keen to use the premium Crew-Cab configuration to achieve a dominant off-road presence.

Stretched to Length

The first order of business in creating the 6x6 is to stretch the wheelbase to accommodate an additional rear axle. However, this is not just a simple matter of adding an extra set of wheels. Bureko will update the entire drivetrain with heavy-duty components that are strengthened and configured to play nice with each other.

Sprung for Severe Service

The suspension is definitely upgraded from the stock components, but Bureko does not go into specifics on what exactly they install. From the photos, one would expect uprated lift kit components such as boxed crossmembers, lengthened control arms, heavy-duty springs, and premium shocks that will allow for extra suspension travel and the ability to accommodate the oversized wheel/tire combo.

Bureko Brawn

Bureko builds upon the boxy styling of the Silverado by adding a set of squared front fender flares to match the lengthened bed. Styling cues have obviously been pulled from their previous vehicles and the square grille is highly reminiscent of the Hummer H2. The 'Bureko Look' is completed with a set of aggressive front and rear bumpers that look mean and provide additional ground clearance.

Who Likes Horsepower?

Under the hood is where things get juicy. Bureko does offer their 6x6 with the standard Chevy 6.2L V8 making 420 horsepower. But with a truck this massive, more horses are always welcome. Bureko also offers customers conservative supercharged variants in the 600-800 horsepower range, but if one wants to get wild, they will pump up the engine to 7.0L and 1,200 horsepower to allow owners to perform 6-wheel burnouts all day long.

A Touch of Ordinary

The interior of the Bureko 6x6 is a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the truck as it remains mostly untouched from the factory. That is not to say the premium interior trim package from GM is bad, but for an otherwise custom (and very expensive) truck, one would expect something a bit more exotic to match the exterior. That said, it would not be surprising if Bureko would work with customers to improve the interior as these trucks are being built in extremely limited quantities.

A Strapping Silverado

Fully-dressed, the Bureko 6x6 is said to have a curb weight of just over 6,000 lbs in crew-cab trim and measures over 20 feet long and 7 feet wide. It is as brawny and powerful as they come, and surely has the off-road prowess to match its gargantuan size. Surely, this thing is a handful on European back roads that are known to be significantly narrower than our roads here in the U.S.

Limited Production

Bureko CEO Herbert Herrmann stated that only 25 6x6 trucks will be built at a cost of approximately €300,000 depending on the selected performance package. As can be seen from the photos, several trucks have already been built, but at nearly $350,000 US dollars and currently street legal only in Germany, it will be interesting to see how quickly these 6-wheelers sell out. If you had the dough, would the Bureko 6x6 be your truck of choice?
