A Redesign of the Redesign?

The newly facelifted Camaro has been a hot topic of conversation as of late. Particularly, the restyled taillights and front fascia have caused quite the controversy. Many have voiced their dislike for the new Camaro SS, and apparently, Chevy has been listening.

Shockingly Yellow

Shock Yellow is one of 5 colors announced for the 2019 Camaro, and Chevy has chosen to display their potential re-imagination of the Camaro SS front fascia with the introduction of the bright-colored 'concept' car at SEMA this year.

Small Tweak, Big Difference

While the facelifted Camaro SS certainly features a daring aesthetic, it has elicited an overwhelming backlash, even from many within the automotive design realm. This Shock Yellow display car drops the blacked-out front bumper cover in favor of a body-color-painted panel in the front. Thus, it almost feels like Chevy's way of metaphorically retracting their original bold statement.

The Same Mechanical Masterpiece

There is no denying that the Camaro is, by far, the best sports car in the muscle car world in every aspect imaginable. So it is no wonder that the new Camaro comes with no major revisions in the performance department. The changes are predominantly aesthetic.

1LE Goodness

Chevy has announced a number of OEM accessories and upgrades for the 2019 Camaro as well. Most significantly, they will be bringing GM's amazing performance and driving dynamics to the masses with the 1LE-inspired performance upgrades, including suspension, seats, and six-piston Brembo brakes.

Any More Changes Coming?

Based on the Shock Yellow Camaro on display at SEMA, it seems Chevy design management has not yet planned any revisions to those taillights. We shall see if a mid-cycle update (or perhaps a 2019.5 model) will see a new rear fascia for the new Camaro.
