1. Drag Strip Terror

It's only been a few weeks since Chevy unleashed the 2018 COPO Camaro on the world. And shortly thereafter, they brought their latest beast to SEMA for everyone to lay their eyes (and ears) upon this newest purpose-built drag strip terror. Chevy has spent years testing its latest Camaro in these types of conditions, which allows them to offer a car with both incredible performance and a factory warranty.

2. LS Unleashed

Much like the 2016 COPO, you get three engine choices - a high-revving LT1-based 302 and an LSX-based supercharged 350 and 427. The most powerful of which promises to be quite the performer. With unique calibrations, a smaller supercharger pulley, long tube headers, and 110-octane race gas, it'll churn out over 700 horsepower. The COPO also sports smaller diameter rear brake calipers and 16-inch Weld wheels, all of which you can order up from Chevrolet Performance.

3. Tuned for Success

Much like how the ZL1 is designed to carve corners at high speeds, the COPO is designed to rip down the quarter-mile as fast as possible. That means a 3-speed automatic gearbox, solid rear axle, and plenty of weight reduction methods. It also means the unique transmission, electronic limited slip, and magnetic ride calibrations designed with traction and acceleration in mind. All of which results in low 10-second quarter mile runs at nearly 138 mph.

4. Hot Wheels - Literally

Another interesting new feature on the 2018 COPO Camaro is the availability of the Hot Wheels appearance package. To celebrate the miniature 1968 Camaro's 50th anniversary, the Hot Wheels Camaro racer sports "Supercrush" orange paint and Satin Graphite racing stripes. It's a nice touch considering Chevy has never really concerned itself with making its COPO cars look fancy.

5. Act Now!

If all of this sounds like your idea of a dream car, you'll want to hurry. Chevy has opened up registration for the COPO, but only through November 30. As always, only 69 will be built. And since more than 69 people will undoubtedly want one, an independent third-party is used to select the lucky future owners. If you're one of those fortunate few, expect to pay somewhere between $90,000 and $110,000 for the privilege of owning one.
