Chevrolet Camaro 2010-Present: How to Replace Parking Lights
The small light on the side of your Chevrolet Camaro is called a parking light, side marker, or some may call it a turn signal light; here's how to replace it yourself regardless of the name.
This article applies to the 5th Gen Chevrolet Camaro (2010-present).
The orange light on the side of your Chevrolet Camaro serves as a parking light, which makes your car more visible at night; it also serves as a turn signal, so whoever is next to you can see you're trying to turn if they can't see the back of your car. The bulb could burn out just like any other bulb. Replacing it is rather simple and requires basic tools. This DIY allows you to replace it yourself and avoid a trip to the dealership.
Materials Needed
- Socket
- Flat head screwdriver
- Light bulb
Step 1 – Remove inner fender bolts
Use your socket to remove a few of the screws holding the front edge of the wheel well in place. You just want to make enough room to get your hand into the fender and remove the side light assembly. Once you have two or three bolts out, you should have enough room.
Step 2 – Remove light assembly
Use your screwdriver to press on the tab from the inside of the light assembly, then pull the light assembly out.
Step 3 – Replace bulb
Pull the electrical socket out of the housing by turning it counterclockwise, then pull the bulb out. Install the new bulb in the socket, then install the socket into the light, turning it clockwise to lock it in place. Install the housing back in the fender by pushing it in until it clicks. Finally, install the inn fender back in place, and tighten the screws you removed.
The rear lights are very similar, and can be replaced the same way.
