Flawless Z/28

This 1969 Camaro Z/28 is a truly rare find, for a plethora of reasons. Sure, it only has about a thousand believed original miles on it. And yes, it is painted in the correct Daytona Yellow, an exclusive color combo with the black stripes and black vinyl roof. But there's more that makes this '69 Z/28 unique.

Miles on the Drag Strip

Amazingly, this car was purchased new by a lady. But not just any lady. A lady who used the car as a drag racing machine. And that could explain the fact that the car shows so few miles. Chances are, most of those miles were driven on the drag strip. Now, we can't imagine why someone would buy a Z/28 only to rip out the drivetrain and the motor, but that's what happened to this Chevy.

Better than New

The mechanical elements of the car were replaced to optimize it for drag racing. However, through the process of the restoration, the car was taken back to its original condition where the powertrain and drivetrain are concerned. And with modern paint finishing technology, it's in even better cosmetic shape than when it was new.

Correct Power Unit

The correct DZ-code 302 ci V8 was sourced and rebuilt during the restoration. So when it comes to power delivery, this Camaro will have felt like a time machine that takes you back to 1969. The thoroughly reworked mechanical elements of the muscle car are on display, and even the undercarriage looks brand-new.

Color Matched Interior

On the inside, the black and yellow theme continues. The premium Yellow Houndstooth interior was an option that was only offered on the Camaros with Daytona Yellow exterior. And this jaw-dropping restored interior features a wood-trim sport steering wheel and Hurst shifter.

Worth the Price?

Although this Camaro leans more towards restored than preserved, the level of craftsmanship used to bring it back to its Z/28 glory makes it a truly amazing muscle car nonetheless. The car has reported only been driven 50 miles since the restoration was completed a few months back. Now the real question is, are the work quality and the car's interesting backstory enough to warrant the $182,995 asking price? We shall wait and see!
