5. 1969 Camaro ZL-1 - 430 HP
The fact that this is the only Camaro from outside of the last decade or so on this list is a testament to the awesomeness of the pre-Clean Air Act muscle car era. With a whopping 430 horsepower on tap, the 1969 Cmaro ZL-1 was the first one of the now legendary trim level. And it stands the test of time, still among the most powerful Camaros to ever roll off the factory line.
4. 6th-Gen Camaro SS - 455 HP
The current Camaro SS is not just one of the absolute best sports car money can buy today. It also happens to be one of the most powerful Camaros GM has ever offered. With the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT1 engine under the hood, the Camaro 1SS and 2SS can hold their own against the fastest cars on the market at the moment.
3. 5th-Gen Camaro Z/28 - 500 HP
The 5th-gen Camaro Z/28 was presented as quite the imposing beast when it was first introduced to the world nearly a decade ago. Boasting an impressive 500 horsepower courtesy of the famous LS7 engine, the Z/28 was designed as a more track-focused variant for fans of the Chevy muscle car.
2. 5th-Gen Camaro ZL1 - 580 HP
There was only one version of the 5th-gen Camaro that came out of the factory with more grunt than the aforementioned Z/28 and that's the ZL1. With the ZL1 nameplate making its glorious return to the Camaro lineup, the power plant of choice for this monstrosity was a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA motor that put down a massive 580 ponies at the crank.

The only Camaro variant that tops the power output of the 5th-gen ZL1 is the manufacturer's follow-up to the same model. Brought back for 2018, the newest Camaro ZL1 came with the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 mill with a gnarly 650 ponies on tap. And with vehicle dynamics geared toward racing, few high-performance cars can produce the lap times that the ZL1 can. Certainly, none that cost anywhere near the price tag of the Camaro.
