Powertrain

Powering this beauty is a 454 CI LS5 V8 unit. It pumps out 360 horsepower and a tire-shredding 500 ft-lb of torque. All of this power runs through the M40TH400 Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission, which was optional at the time. This LS5 breathes through a ZL2 cowl induction hood, which forces air into this engine's 4-barrel carb.

The interior of this Chevelle SS is just as immaculate as its exterior. Open the door and you'll find two bucket seats separated by a full-length center console that houses this model's horseshoe shifter. There's also a tilt steering column on this model.

Wheels

The four SS wheels on this model scream 70's muscle car. They're wrapped in Goodyear F70-14 Polyglas tires. Housed in the front alloys are disc brakes, but it was standard to have rear drum brakes on these models.

All the Options

This particular Chevelle SS was fitted with a wide range of extras when it was purchased in 1970. It has the Z15 Super Sport package for example, which added an extra $503.45 to the final bill. It also has the Turbo 400 automatic transmission, adding a further $221.80 to the final price. Finally, this model has power steering, something that seems standard nowadays but wasn't in 1970.
