Supercharged ZR2

The latest version of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 receives a dramatic performance upgrade from Texas tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering. Known as the Goliath 700, the modified truck raises output from the ZR2’s stock 6.2-liter V8 far beyond factory levels. With the help of forced induction, the truck now produces 700 horsepower and 611 lb-ft of torque, putting it in the same conversation as extreme factory off-road trucks.

Closing the Power Gap

In standard form, the Silverado ZR2’s 420-hp V8 leaves it significantly down on power compared with rivals like the Ford F150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX, which generate 720 hp and 777 hp, respectively. Hennessey’s upgrade adds 280 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, allowing the lifted pickup to accelerate from 0–60 mph in about 4.2 seconds, a dramatic improvement over the stock truck’s roughly 5.6-second run.

How It Makes 700 HP

The transformation centers on a twin-screw supercharger mounted to the 6.2-liter small-block V8. Supporting hardware includes an intercooler system, a revised engine control module calibration, and a stainless-steel cat-back exhaust. Together, the modifications dramatically increase airflow and boost pressure while maintaining drivability for everyday use.

Chassis and Suspension Changes

Hennessey also reworked portions of the ZR2’s off-road hardware. The truck retains its factory Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, but the suspension now incorporates a BDS lift system with new upper control arms. According to the company, the revised setup improves stability and control both on pavement and in demanding off-road conditions.

Wheels, Tires, and Off-Road Gear

The Goliath 700 rides on 20-inch off-road wheels wrapped in 35-inch tires, giving it a broader stance and improved ground clearance. Additional protection comes from new steel front and rear bumpers, a front skid plate, and integrated LED lighting. The front bumper incorporates a 40-inch LED light bar and bull bar, equipment aimed at improving visibility and durability during off-road driving.

More Aggressive Exterior

Visual upgrades ensure the truck stands apart from a stock ZR2. Carbon-fiber hood vents and a matching tailgate applique add subtle motorsport-style touches, while Hennessey branding, including the company’s “H” emblem, appears throughout the exterior. Electronic power running boards further improve daily usability despite the truck’s taller ride height.

Interior Details and Warranty

Inside, changes are more subtle but still distinctive. The cabin gains all-weather floor mats, embroidered headrests, and a numbered plaque on the center console identifying each truck’s place in the production run. Hennessey also backs the conversion with a three-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty.

Limited Production

Hennessey plans to build just 100 examples of the Goliath 700, each sold through authorized Chevrolet dealers. Pricing starts at $139,950, placing the modified truck far above the standard ZR2’s roughly $76,000 base price but positioning it as a limited-production alternative to high-power off-road pickups.
