LS1

The seller dropped a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 into the Wagoneer from a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette with 73k miles.  The motor was fitted with a new water pump, front and rear main seals, harmonic balancer, spark plugs, and belt tensioner during installation.  Additional mods included a modified wiring harness with unused sensors shut off at the ECU, a drive-by-cable setup using a Chevrolet Camaro SS throttle body, a cold air intake, a custom battery tray, an aluminum radiator with electric fans that come on with the A/C, and a transmission cooler, to name a few.  The 5.7-liter LS1 was good for 350 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque.  The LS1 is mated to a 4L60E transmission features a custom Heim-jointed shift linkage and adapters connecting it to a stock transfer case overhauled with new gaskets and bearings.

Frame Reborn

The auctioneers state the body was removed in 2017 for powder-coating of the frame. The chassis was painted and undercoated, and fresh body mounts and bolts were installed.  In addition to the frame, new leaf springs and shocks were installed in addition to a larger front sway bar, a rear sway bar, and a replacement steering stabilizer.

Nutmeg

Inside, you'll notice a near-mint cabin.  The interior is trimmed in Nutmeg leather with a reupholstered suede headliner.  The seller noted that a Ford Explorer center console was painted in a similar color and features USB ports and a 12-volt charger. A Vintage Air A/C compressor was fitted along with a new condenser, receiver drier, and lines.

111k Chassis Miles

Other interior mods include Polk Audio speakers underneath factory covers front and rear, a radio with Bluetooth capabilities, a suede-covered enclosure housing a 10″ JBL W6 subwoofer, and an amplifier.  The odometer shows 111k chassis miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added by the seller following the completion of the build.

Iris

You'll notice this Wagoneer appears to have fresh color.  Painted in an Iris blue, this Woody also had new faux wood trim was installed under previous ownership.  Other visual refinishes included re-chroming the bumpers and installing fresh window seals as well as sandblasting and refinishing the firewall and inner front fenders.

Darn Near Perfect

While this Jeep Grand Wagoneer features some Frankenstein'd parts, it's an almost darn near perfect refurbishment of the OG "sport utility vehicle".  The Wagoneer has always been the perfect blend of luxury and utility for its time and while design and tech have advanced substantially since its production run, it'd be hard to find anyone that wouldn't want to see this Woody in his or her garage.  If you're reading this and are one of the lucky owners of a Wagoneer out there, the jealousy is real here.
