The Ringbrothers

The Ringbrothers have become known in the automotive aftermarket world for their top-notch performance mods as well as their immaculate attention to detail and build quality. What they manage to seamlessly achieve with every build is the uncompromising combo of style and on-track capability. And this unbelievable '66 Chevelle build is a great example of that.

Monstrous Chevelle

This LS7-powered monster falls on a different side of the Ringbrothers spectrum than the majority of their builds. While the focal point of many of their projects is creating high-performance street machines, this particular car has characteristics that suggest it's more of a track car with the ability to steal the show at cars and coffee.

Supercharged LS7

Appropriately named "Recoil," the super-Chevelle gets its firepower from a Wegner Motorsports LS7 V8 with a boost from a Whipple supercharger. The Holley fuel injection system helps gasoline flow into the built motor and Flowmaster exhaust lets it breathe free, and lets passers-by feel the rumble.

Big Tires For Big Horsepower

All 980 horsepower is transferred from the LS7 to the rear diff through a Tremec T56 Magnum transmission. The manual gearbox works together with the Dynotech driveshaft and the John’s Industries Ford 35 Spline nine-inch rear. The force is brought onto the Recoil HRE 3-piece forged wheels measuring 20 by 13 inches at the rear. The custom Ringbrothers wheels are wrapped in 345/30s Michelin tires.

Bare-Bones Cabin

If the exterior or the engine bay don't give you enough of a race car vibe, the interior should. Stripped down to the absolute bare minimum, the weight saving is the name of the game within the cabin. The majority of the interior elements were hand-crafted, with the exception of the Racepak gauge cluster, providing all the information required during a hot lap.

Fit and Finish

The car was originally featured at SEMA a few years back, a part of the Royal Purple booth. The show-ready exterior of Recoil is finished in a beautiful flat warm grey color named Sand Storm. And it's nicely contrasted by the dark carbon fiber elements around the car. And these details are worth showing off, as is often the case with Ringbrothers builds.
