The Arkonik Transformation

Arkonik, the renowned English refurbisher, breathed new life into a 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 pickup, converting it from a single-cab to a double-cab body. This transformation included a striking Santorini Black finish, reinforced by additional features such as LED lights, a Warn Zeon-S winch, and a customized front bumper, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

The Iconic Legacy

The Land Rover Defender, with its origins dating back to the 1960s, has carved its niche in automotive history, evolving from the Series III to the 1983 '110'. Its enduring design has solidified its status as an icon, standing the test of time while maintaining its distinctive appeal.

Rugged Exterior, Functional Interior

When it comes to the Arkonik-tuned Defender, the exterior enhancements encompass a Spectre front bumper, tubular rear bumper, roof basket, and intake snorkel. Inside, the vehicle boasts black leather seats with red diamond stitching, air conditioning, electric windows, and a Pioneer touchscreen head unit. These modifications elevate the Defender's comfort and utility, making it suitable for both urban roads and off-road adventures.

Under the Hood

Perhaps the most significant upgrade (at least in our eyes) lies beneath the hood, where the original 3.5-liter V8 engine was replaced with a powerful 6.2-liter LS3 V8, offering superior performance. Paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, a locking center differential, and an Ashcroft LT230 dual-range transfer case, this Defender ensures optimal performance in various terrains.

The Journey to the US

Imported into the US in 2016, this left-hand-drive Defender found a new home after being sold to its current owner in 2020. Further modifications ensued, including a 2” suspension lift, four-wheel disc brakes, and black-finished 16” wheels with BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires, enhancing its off-road capabilities.

Unique Legacy

Combining a rich heritage with contemporary modifications, this Arkonik-tuned 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 pickup represents the perfect blend of classic design and modern functionality. This awesome Defender was sold on Bring a Trailer last week for a grand total of $85,000, as it continues its journey across the world, and to a new home Stateside.
