Much ado has been made about the all-new C8's price and performance. And for good reason, as the mid-engine marvel might just be the performance bargain of the century. But the interior of the C8 is also all-new and well worth taking a closer look at, and we aren't just talking about that long row of buttons in the center.

Driver Focused

One of our favorite things about the C8's interior is the fact that it's aggressively driver-focused, much like a fighter jet. All of the controls are purposefully within reach and directed at the driver, as it should be. That includes the "shifter," which may not be a traditional stick, but it looks very cool nonetheless.

Fully Customizable

While some find the abundance of physical buttons inside the C8 a bit redundant, we personally like having the option to adjust things like the HVAC system either by physical control or through the digital screen. And in the new Corvette, you can fully customize that experience.

Catering to Everyone

Drivers are able to fully customize the instrument cluster and infotainment system to their desired preferences, which is a nice touch. So whether your old school or new school, you can set up the controls to your own personal taste.

Changing Modes

Perhaps the most interesting component of the C8's interior, of course, is the dual-screen setup consisting of the infotainment system and instrument cluster. Like many high-end sports cars, the Corvette's cluster changes depending on which driving mode you select.

Unique Options

When in Sport mode, the cluster shows dynamic shift lights in the middle, for example. Track Mode moves the tachometer up top to make it more visible. Drivers are also to go through and change various settings on the instrument cluster and save them for future use. And of course, Data Recorder allows you to save your best performances.

Sound Machine

Then there's the 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, which is tuned specifically for the C8. From what we can gather from this video, the new stereo sounds pretty good, though we'll have to reserve judgment for our first go behind the wheel.

Quick and Responsive

Both screens also look to be very responsive and quick, which is a big deal. After all, many of today's digital screens are still slow and sluggish to respond, which is a major pet peeve of ours (and most everyone else).

Zs That'll Wake You Up

Another interesting feature buried in the infotainment system is the Corvette's "Z-Mode." This allows you to adjust the engine sound, steering feel, brake response, and powertrain setup. Which is obviously something we'll be playing with quite a bit.

Nice Duds

Overall, the C8's interior is shaping up to be a very nice place to sit. It certainly looks like a big step up from the C7's duds as well. Now, we'll just have to reserve final judgment for our first in-depth drive of Chevy's latest and greatest Corvette!
