A great deal of effort has gone into making this car as period-correct as possible. Now that it's up for auction, would you be tempted to place a bid?

Restoration

The 1970 Chevelle SS pictured above was sold brand new at Evans Chevrolet in West Virginia 50 long years ago, but it still looks factory-fresh. This is all down to a meticulous recent rotisserie style restoration. The best part is, it could now be yours because it's up for auction.

Engine

Under this car's shiny hood sits a numbers matching 454 ci V8 LS6 powerplant. This unit pumps out a tire-shredding 450 horsepower.

Putting it Down

All of this Chevelle's horsepower runs through an M22 4-speed manual transmission. After this, it's sent to the original 12 bolt 3.31 Positraction rear end. The F41 performance suspension helps to keep everything in check, even if you have a heavy right foot.

Factory-Fresh

This car is pretty much how you would have found it 50 years ago. It has the correct exhaust and resonators as well as the correct factory smog system. It also comes with a factory tachometer and gauges.

Exterior

This car's period-correct Cranberry Red paint job couldn't get any cleaner. The black racing stripes on the ZL2 cowl induction hood really pop thanks to the crispness of the paintwork.

Interior

Open the door of this Chevelle and you'll be greeted by Black vinyl upholstery that screams '70s American muscle. The trip back in time continues with the car's AM only 8-track cassette radio system.

Wheels

Keeping everything rolling smoothly is a set of Goodyear Polyglas tires. These tires are wrapped around 14x7-inch Rally wheels, which house power disc brakes.
