Default Not a good first post...

So, I pull into the driveway last night and the car dies... I try to start it and it is acting like the battery is dead, starter tries to turn over, but its like the it doesnt have enough juice. So, I try to jump it with another small car, tries to turn over but won't. Then I call roadside assistance, they send a big tow-truck over and we try to jump it with that, well it turns over real slow a few times and is making a wierd whining noise while its turning over, well smoke starts billowing out of the engine bay like its on fire... I cut everything off and saw that the smoke was coming from the starter, like the engine did not want to turn over, not like the starter was bad.

This car only has 260 miles on the clock and is a 09 G8GT

I am taking it in to the dealer today but just wanted to know if any LS engine guys ever heard of this, I'm thinking somehow the engine is locking up.

Have you ever bought a new car? You want me to call you because you will find me the best deal for a car? What qualifications allows you to do this?

The dealer didn't build the car. They will fix it FREE. What in the hell are you bitching about, original poster?

The dealer won't fix it for "FREE", they will fix it under warrenty, free to him yes, but not out of the kindness of their heart. They get paid, albeit less than their standard rate I'm sure, but they will get paid for the work. But nice try at shooting everyone down who dares bad mouth a dealer just because they had a bad experience... Yeah, I definately think that the dealer should not be reported as they haven't even been given a chance to fix it. But seriously get off your high horse and realize that YOUR kind of attitude is the exact reason people do speak poorly of dealers.

I'm in the middle of a Lemon Law lawsuit. It doesn't work like people think. You can't have an issue and automatically start screaming lemon law, or everyone would be in lemon law hell. Trust me it is a very large pain in the ***!! In NC, the dealer has 4 attempts to fix the issue. THEN the manufacturer has the option to send an engineer from their corporate office to diagnose the issue. Only after the 4th attempt fails, then you can start the lemon law process. My advice to the OP is to take it to the dealership and give them a shot at fixing it. You shouldn’t take your anger out on them. Like the person posted above, they didn't build the car. To blow them out serves no purpose.

Judging by your apparent lack of Lemon Law knowledge you probably know this first hand.

Don't make inaccurate statements and then try to be a sarcastic jackass when someone disagrees with you. It only makes you look like a punk.

Im only trying to help the guy who started the thread and said not to forget the possibility of the lemon law nothing more, nothing less...where is the inaccuracy about that?? thats always a possibility in these cases, aint it?

If you are sour about your lemon law issue canalize your frustration in another way. Im not the one to blame of the shitty car you bought and also... I dont give a **** about your "lemon law hell". Nice attitude BTW....I think you are the one bitching right now.

I called ignorance because, boy its easy to say to someone with problems with a new car to quit bitching....very supportive!

I misread the ignorance post. For that I apologize.

On the other hand, I, much like yourself, don't give a **** about YOUR opinion. And yes, I was bitching, about you bitching...nice to meet you kettle....

You posted your Lemon Law comment in your "thunderous god like voice" like that was the first step he should pursue. I posted my situation so he would actually be informed about the process in case he actually believed what you were saying was his next course of action.

I apologize to the OP for the hijacking. Post what you found out.

Hope your therapist optimize your treatment because the "thunderous god like voice" was meant to be a friendly, humorous comment to lighten up the guy and show some support....but apparently you need to take your frustration with someone and decided to play dick...... I dont believe I even need to explain that....

It was the starter... I been out of town so I havent gotten to speak with the service dept, the dealer was cool, gave me a new loaner, no gripes or complaints. When I get back I'll see if I can get a more detailed description.

Win win, dealers are pretty good about fixing brand new cars. The dealer has to keep their customer that may be with them for life happy or you'll give a bad survey lol.

PS~I envy your G8

Curious why the car died if the only problem was the starter??

No **** man, something's weird here. OT, what kinda yota you have?

The car won't randomly die because the starter's fucked.

Sounds like the symptoms of bad fuel to me...maybe water in the fuel causing hydrolock or an inability to combust?
