Default LS1 stalled auto/3.42 roadracing?

Yep, that's my next plan. When I get back, I'll be ordering alot of suspension parts to handle this tasking. I hope it can able to pull 1.0 G.

Will my stalled auto be a problem?

Should not be any problem at all. I would wonder if there is a way to program the computer to downshift during deceleration instead of waiting until you climb back onto the gas coming out of the corner. May be a good question to asks the brain trust at HP Tuners, if anyone knows they will.

I had a 91 RS with an automatic that I used to autocross and took to open track days. It was never any real issue.

From what I hear, it will need a good tranny cooler.

I have fairly big tranny cooler installed to keep cool things down for the Yank converter. Its the biggest Hayden tranny cooler out there, its rated to be use for RVs.

I have road raced mine, it is a 3000 B&M converter with a B&M cooler. My trans temp was around 198 after a 25 minute session. Your ST3500 (based on your FQuick page) should be fine, anything larger then that will be an issue. It then becomes an on off switch, which is not good in the sweeper corners.

The trans can be setup with specific shiftpoints for road racing. By using a button to activate the performance tables in the code. You can drive to the track, hit the button to use the race shift points, then hit the button again to have street shift points.

I have one of those "Performance Transmission" buttons in my 94 LT1. Does anyone know if that mode be programmed separate from the regular mode...like those performance tables they mention on LS1s?

We teach all auto uses how and when to downshift at the end of a brake zone and prior to corner turn in. Then Upshift when needed.

Leaving the car in automatice makes shifting in the wrong places. After the corner, istead of before the coner. Upshifting when leaving it in the lower gear for extra 50 feet.

Plus leaving the car in Drive upsets and slows your car down too much.

Learning to Shift the automatic is key for performance on a road course

Good Luck

I thought that would probably be when you would want to manually shift an auto. Thanks for confirming.
