theyll work all day long. 275s up front...285s will hit. 285 or 295 out back is fine, but BFH may be necessary

offset and backspacing are all relative. You can use either one to figure it out. Yes, theyll work

Kewl, so 275x35xZR18 will be good with with these Z06s I found for sale, the +54 is ok, and no mods needed for fit or use. I'm gonna order them as soon as I get my tax return, thanks Todd.

Please excuse my ignorance on this but I am lost

A 15x10 (7.5 offset) Draglite will fit on the rear with some grinding. But the offsets you mention above don't line up with that.

10.0" +38 to +54 mm 275, 285 (38mm = 1.5" / 54mm = 2") Given these are opisite to the 7.5 your still at 8-8.5" off set.

Is the above for direct replacement with no grinding?

If that be the case, a 7.0" +35 to +40 mm (1.37-2.0) 15" draglite would fit the front?

Dont confuse offset and backspacing as they really are the same thing.

17x10 + 38 = 6.99backspacing. Not 1.5" like you show below.

As far as drag applications go...I honestly dont have much knowledge on them. We do not sell them, and ive never really researched. I do believe the draglites rub based on the fact they are 15" and the barrel will contact the caliper.

yes mm.

backspacing =

(example) 9.5" rim with +56 offset.
Add one inch to rim, so now its 10.5. Divide that by two, 5.25. Add the +56 offset (2.20") 5.35 +2.20 = 7.55.

Your 15x10 above is a +51 offset

OK... My turn

I just purchased a set of Y2K's (OE...i think...) 275/40 18's on 18x9.5's on the rear, 245/45 17's on 17x8.5's on the front...

My problem is the rear fitment... I have interference on the INSIDE of the rear wheels.. (tires are rubbing) but only on harsh bumps, or uneven road surfaces.......

I have room to the outside, so is there a spacer that looks nice asthetically that will resolve my problem?

Thanks in advance... Robert

BTW, vehicle is '02 Z28

You have two choices:

BFH or spacer.

The areas where the tire(s) contact the inner wheel well can be massaged and reundercoated - commonly done.

Or get a spacer, size is up to you. 1/4" can typically be used safely with OEM lug studs. Once you hit 5/16" or greater longer studs will be required. H&R Springs make some really nice hub and wheel centric spacers specifically for the car.

Xsta Z 28,

I know GM used a hubcentric spacer on the 3rd gens... but they are a little thin for my taste.. I ordered two just to check fitment... I will check to see if H&R has a website...

I really hate to do the BFH mod on a car with a scant 11K miles... (you should have seen the look on my wifes face when I started talking about the hammer)

Note the car is otherwise completely stock... completely... not even the free mods...

Hmm interesting,

seems they come with longer studs... dont know if I'll need them... but there is a dealer on island... and I just left work... they are about 2 miles away from my shop.

Thanks Xsta Z

Default 275/40 17s on 17 x 11s

Saw a post while back but no response on this. Will the standard 01-02
SS Goodyear Eagle F1 275/40 17s work on a 17 x 11 wheel? Buying the wheels but no $$ for the wider tires at the moment. Would put 9.5s on the front and the 11s in the rear. The goodyear site hints that the tire will fit on 8.5 - 11 inch rims then mentions 9.0 to 11 inch...

Thanks

It could . . . a 275 is 10 13/16" wide, it's gonna look goofy but for the time being.

I understand the offset...but what is the amount of backspacing that will work with our cars. I have seen rims listed with 5 and 6 inch backspacing, but nothing about offset. So what amount(s) of backspacing will fit?

So supposedly a 18x8 with 5" backspacing will work...so a 18x9.5 with 6" backspacing...will leave me with 1/2" sticking out of the fender well???

on 9.5 6 3/4" to 7.5" backspacing works and keeps you within the fender. Or +38 to +56

What is the width of the WS6 rims? Do we have any stock offsets? I was considering getting 18"x9.5" in the front and 18"x10.5" in the back. What tires can I run safely with minimal rubbing? It says the wheel offsets are 65mm & 58 mm and suggests a 1/4" spacer for the rear. Does this mean that the wheel will stick out really far? Thanks

What is needed to fit 17x11" ZR-1's with 315's in the back. Car is not lowered. I was thinking +50mm offset, will this work, fender rolling? Are they direct bolt-ons? Thanks!
