storing gasoline, few questions.
storing gasoline, few questions. well, what do you guys suggest? I am probably going to do the cheapest route which is obviously 55 gallon drums. I just bought a big *** generator that will plow through about a gallon of gas per hour if about half loaded. I hope i wont have to use it this winter but if i do, i want to be prepared. I was thinking of two 55 gallon drums, treated with sta-bil fuel additive. I would think if i filled them towards the end of the month and treated them it should be good till about april when we are out of the woods for bad weather right? We had a bad storm here years ago and were out of power for about 2 weeks. It sucked. Then, i lived where i had a wood burning stove and didnt have to worry about pipes freezing and what not. Now, im total electric so I had to pony up and get some power.

yes, i was thinking it shoud be ok. Ive left gas in cans over the winter and used them the next summer with no problems. As for the propane, that wouldnt work. I would have to get a big tank to store it in and I dont think the city would allow it in my yard.
Down here a lot of people have propane appliances,
not so much natural gas except in newer subdivisions.
City could make you get a permit maybe, but I doubt
they can forbid you to have a propane "water heater"
and the tank that goes along with.
