I agree 100%. I'm not ready to run out and sell my LS6 intake while they are still going for $300 just because of this thread. However if some of these claims hold true I'd be interested, just not gonna wait till all the intake options are out there. We've already been waiting on one for over a year now.

Looks too tall for my car.

Guess I'm stuck with the FAST.

dear lord i hope not. i was thinking the same thing...someone in here already said "should be great for big cube and boosted cars" so here we go again. itll be just like the 1 7/8", just fine for 346 but even better for big cube/boosted.

my outlook:
performs= $9xx
doesnt perform= $400

LOL, bad way of looking at it.

Their single plane Victor Jr. outflows the FAST above 6500 RPM's as well & is only $400. And it also excells with cubes above 346 & boosted applications.

Main problem is most people will shy away from Aluminum intake & nuthug composite. I myself am not worried about losing a little down low if it's more than made up for up top. Who races in low RPM's anyway?? I'm also not worried about "heat soak" from the aluminum intake as you will not see a effect from that until the car is shut off & no fresh air is flowing thru the intake. Alot of others feel the same, especially in high HP applications, hence the popular sheet metal intakes.

So I'd say there is a market for a Aluminum intake priced around $400 if it outperforms a composite intake priced at $1000.

Yeah that's a Sechsy intake thanx for posting that!

Runners actually look long/tall. Could be the pic though.
Should produce great Tq numbers as well.

Thx, for sharing!

The test versus the ls6 intake was with some small heads and a VERY tiny cam, so I expect youll see similar gains on a stock headed motor.

The runners are very short compred to a FAST etc. Edelbrock told me its out in January and already in their catalog etc. They have it finished etc with no delays or wait time.

I highly doubt that things going to be cheap. It obviously works, such high numbers with a ***** cam and heads.

If they're those numbers are at least half true, I'm in big time. Its about time some company wakes up and produce a nice and cheap intake for the LS1!!! Way to go Eldelbrock!!

If this thing can deliver the numbers it advertises with the price they are advertising, in a fairly short amount of time, I'm thinking Weiand may have "missed the boat."

Props to Edelbrock for finally giving the FAST some competition. Now lets see some numbers from unbiased 3rd parties.

Personally I think its ugly, especially compared to even my stock ls1 intake manifold. It looks like a ram air induction intake from GM, and whether or not that affects performance I still wouldn't like it in my engine bay. Street warrior why are you only a myth...

I dont know 482 hp 431 tq with heads and cam on an engin dyno, what will that be to the wheels. what size was the cam? 30.7 hp gain over ls6 that looks like 10hp to the wheels to me. I am going to wait for it to come out, see what hp gains other people get.
