I got a 232/234 590. 590. On a 112 LSA with patriot stage 3 heads(2.5).... went from 396 hp/379Lbs With the stock LS1 intake on there, to 440hp/402 lbs witht the FAST 90/90 w/a NW TB....

these gains are normal right? Any input would help.. Thanks guys

Thats why you picked up so much power. A ported FAST setup is a HUGE step over a stock LS1 intake.

I agree, a stock ls1 intake sucks. Hell I picked up 17 rwhp going from an ls1 intake to my old 78 mm FAST. Then picked up another 17 rwhp + going to the new ported 90 mm FAST. My latest intake (ported 92mm FAST) is from Ron at Vengeance Racing. He ported it and opened the inlet to work with a 95 mm tb knowing I was going to using it on my new ls2 based 402.

44 rwhp gain is pretty substantial though.

Very nice! What is the normal gain for a Ported FAST over a ported LS2? I'd guess about 20rwhp.

Do you happen to have a before/after graph ??

A gain like this must be mainly in the upper RPMS, but I'd be curious to see how the ls1 intake graph looked compared to the graph with the ported 90. Did the place that did the install/tuning baseline your car, and is it the same dyno you used to get the 396 rwhp with the ls1 intake. Just trying to clarify how accurate your claim is. SAE or STD numbers ?? Post a graph, enquiring minds want to know.

wow, someone gained more than me, though i gained 35rwhp/10rwtq over the Ls6 intake when i swapped for my ported 90/90, Patriot Stage II heads, and comp 224 .581 112lsa...

the OP probably gained that much since he's using heads that are marketed for 6.0L or larger displacement engines (not stocked-cubed Ls1's), plus the fact anything is an improvement over the Ls1 intake, plus who knows how nailed down the previous tune was as well...

Very solid gains!

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know how the carb style intakes do with fuel injection and an elbow with throttle body on a mild setup? My buddy keeps talking about doing that kind of setup, but I've never seen any numbers for them on a mild (cam only) setup.

That would be cool bro. I really can't wait to see the difference. Most people open up there stock motors with a cam, or a cam and an intake, and then add heads last. Not you, you opened up your motor with a bigger cam and better flowing heads. The fact that you added a ported 90 last and coming from a crappy ls1, the graph will show exactly where to expect gains by improving air through the intake. Glad to see someone not follow the recipe.

most people do it because the ls1 intake is the worse of the 2.. and heads are excess of 1500 usually

It right considering that ls1 intake was choking up the potential of airflow thru those patriot heads.
