I bought a Moser 9" and I'm putting in a T56.
Most people go with 4.10's, I bought 3.89's to switch too, for now I'm keeping in my 3.50's to have a nice top-end pull.
but start doing hard launches and shifts with sticky tires...and its all over by the crying.
sofar i've been on my stock 10bolt...with just upgraded bearing studs and girdle for 4 yrs with 400rwhp. and i'm running a stage 4 clutch and 315s (even drag radials for 2yrs).
If your building a track car on the other hand, do a 9". And if your staying NA, 6spd... 4.10's was awsome, and despite what people will try to tell you i still got great gas mileage (17-18 mpg when i was driving hard) .
my buddies firebird is about 450hp 6.0L, centerforce 12" clutch, stock rear w/ 295/45/18's nitto 555r's he beats on it, and hasnt broken it yet.
My camaro is 500hp turbo, centerforce 12", stock rear 315/35/17 nitto555R's. Ive made passes at the track on ET streets, no problems yet.
Im not saying dont upgrade... im just saying people dont give stockers enough credit, and a new one wouldnt be first on my list. If you've got the money to spend before the car is 500hp go for it. Im sure ill be there eventually.
