Being a firefighter and running EMS as well for 8 years, I've seen enough of that aftermath in person. Too many young people (and old) killed or severely injured 'cause they didn't take 1 second to put on a seat belt. How many have I seen killed from wearing a seat belt? 0.

I think that it was the way the video was shot. It's as if it were a staged scene from a Jackass movie. I didn't squirt the pee, but was laughing.

Of course, it's not funny when people are killed or mangled, it's just that damn video....

I had to laugh. If you are purposely driving stupid and having buddies film, you sort of deserve the consequences of not wearing a seatbelt.

I've run a few MVA's with ejection where they survived.

The one that comes to mind was a 17 year old driver, 18 year old front passenger, and 17 year old rear passenger. Rear passenger was restrained. Driver & front passenger were not.

Vehicle crashed and flipped 3+ times, ejecting the driver & front passenger onto the roadway. Arriving on location within 2 minutes of our dispatch, our units found them laying in the road with severe head trauma. 2 of our Ambulances transported both of them to the hospital as Class 1 Trauma Codes (most severe you can be). The hospital was only a 2-3 minute ride at Emergency Speed.

The driver survived, his front passenger died at the hospital. The rear passenger (Who WAS restrained) had minor bruises.
