Default Max Effort NA 346 Motor Begins Dyno Tuning Today

Just heard from my builder (MC Racing) in Kansas City and they have just started tuning on my max effort 346 build. I should have dyno numbers later today or tomorrow. Attached below is the mod list, this car is a purpose built drag car and will never see the street.

Lets see some input on what power and torque the car puts down. I will post up dyno graphs later this weekend. Attached below are the modifications.

TrickFlow 215cc CNCd heads - decked for 12.0 compression and race gas
PRC Gold Valve Spings (good for .650 lift)
Custon Cam - 247/251 .623/.623 113+3
Calles Forged Rods
ARP rod bolts
COMP Hi Performance Lifters
Yella Terra 1.7 Roller Rockers
Diamond forged Pistons (with valve reliefs)
American Racing 1 7/8 LT with bullet turndowns
Melling Oil Pump
NA 347 Motor
Vengance Ported 92mm Intake and TB
Custom Ram Air

Other Mods - Turbo 400 RMVB
Precision Shifter
10Pt Cro-Moly Cage
Kirkey Race Seat & 6pt Harness
Grant Quick Release Steering Wheel
Strange Front & Rear Drag Brakes
Billet Specialities Drag Wheels (Front & Rear)
S60 with 35 spline axles & spool (4.11 gears)
MT ET Fronts (26x4.5) & Rear (28X10.5)
QA1 Shocks - All four corners
Yank 4500 Stall
Custom Driveshaft
Full Suspension Mods.
Weight of Car should be 3200lbs with me in the car. Radio, Speakers, AC, HVAC, Seats have been removed.

I'll be interested to see what you get, my guess is you'll just crest over 500.

threw a stalled th400 and an s60 that would be a miracle i think. i'll guess 450/420 with bottom 10's assuming a good hook and a sea level track. sounds like it's gonna be a beast man. congrats

Max effort w/ 12:1, hydrolic cam and an off the shelf intake?

I know a guy down in Gardner KS with a 15:1cr 347, low tension rings, perfessionally ported TFS heads, single plane intake, HUGE (.65x lift) hydrolic cam and custom 12" collectors off 1-7/8s LTs with turn downs. I wouldn't even call that "max effort"!
But if you are curious he made ~470rwhp through a Neil Chance (6k rpm) converter and a TH350.

Do I need to run 90/10 mix of nitro and 50 pounds of boost for the motor to considered max effort. Constructive comments please.

Nitro is an oxyginated fuel and I don't consider it NA, and I don't think 99.999% of this board considers boost "NA".
Put a sheet metal intake, solid cam, low tension rings and some trick **** in that thing and you will have your "max effort" build. Just trying to keep you on the level man.

I'm with KCFormula. Your 346 is not a max effort build at all but just a bunch of expensive off-the-shelfness thrown at it.

Who spec'd the cam and did the work on the heads?

Good luck with your numbers...I'm guessing 445/412.

Your S60 / TH400 combo is major overkill, added weight, and more of a parasititc drive train. Why are you going to need race gas with 12:1 cr and a cam that large. I haven't plugged the numbers into a DCR calculator, but it doesn't seem like it would be too high.

TSP went 9.82 on a heads / cam engine with a ported FAST intake. Constructively, I'd run a TH200 or light weight TH350 with billet pieces and a MWCP Fab 9. If you'd also like to take more weight out of it I have my 93 link in my sig. I've taken 307 lbs of useless crap out so far not including the AC, PS, two stock seats, and things of that nature.

Your right, I neglected to concider the trans, that'll kill the numbers pretty good.

Agreed on the first part, nay on the second part. Texas Speeds car weighs what, 12 lbs.? 15 lbs. with a full tank? All the lightweight crap on that car puts it out of the budget and out of the category of any other heads cam car done by a regular joe.

The s60/th400 car is a whole can of overkill.

Well I am not sure what you will dyno, but your combination will make some pretty decent power, and it will be able to take the abuse of MANY runs down the 1/4 mile. Best of luck on the dyno, and better luck at the track. Lets see some 10 second passes when shes done !! Don't take the comments on here personal, sometimes ls1tech can be a rough place. Again good luck !!

With that setup I would'nt care about the dyno but I'm sure you can get low 10s with right suspention and tires.
