Sure do, just installed them! Just have to torque the studs. They lined up perfectly with the combustion chambers on the heads too.
Those LS7 gaskets had to be restricting flow around the chambers. That is a spot where you would want as much flow as possible.
I think the 7 layer was designed to give a little more cushion, just like how the 5 layers have worked great for people, because they were better for boost then the 3 layer, the 7's have to work better under extreme conditions.

Please keep us updated. I'm getting ready to buy some head gaskets for my new motor and need info ASAP, so HURRY UP AND TEST THEM OUT, lol, j/k.

Been following your build man, awesome car and awesome numbers. I hope these gaskets work well for you, cause I'm close to the same motor/head combo.

Sounds great. I will likely go to those if have any water problems like you have. Too bad didn't know that when got the ls7s. And they are cheap also compared to the cometics.
Should of course hold up good after all they are used in FI build. For sure let us know if your water problems go away with these.

I am very interested. I will be running the L92's on a boosted engine pretty soon and have the same bore as you, vee8. I am interested to see if the thin decks are the cause as opposed to gasket choice. Also why are you switching to a gasket with such a big bore? Please enlighten the ignorant

What is bore of the l92 heads. Aren't ls7 4.10 also? I think 4.10 is recommended for my afr 225. Thats one reason I went to the ls7 gaskets. The ls9 look for sure superior though.

Wish a few more guys with iron blocks and afr 225 with the ls7 gaskets would chime in on how they are working out. At least the holes don't look totally blocked and didn't the lower holes look ok or are they partially blocked too? Hard to tell in the pics.

I run the 5 layer mls on my L92 heads and have not pushed any water with 15psi with ARP studs. Made 763whp no problems for a few thousand miles now.

Damn Juice! What these guys don't know was the time constraints building that thing before you moved to NC. If you did catch it, it looks like you could have notched the block a smidge to clear the holes in the pic. I believe the 7 layers are the ticket. Can't wait to see the results from the other "Goodies" when you hit the dyno! Those pistons were spotless.

That is the correct part number for the LS9's, retail is $60, GM Parts direct had them for $35 each, local dealer prices will vary.
The LS9 is 7 layer,
The L92/LS3 is 5 layer
The LS7 is 3 layer
The LS7 bore is 4.180" IIRC
The LS9 is 4.100"
These LS9 gaskets fit my CNC ported heads perfectly, the LS7 were a little large.
Everything is buttoned up, just need to throw the manifolds on and fluiuds and spark plugs. Should have it burning corn in a hour or so.

LS7's are 4.15" bore. Great info, and thanks for sharing!

I got in contact with guy running 6.0 iron,ls7 with afr 225.

Here is what he said.

"You will be fine. I was running 15 to 20lbs. That was with 18 degrees of timing. Also on c16 gas.

Alot depends on your compression. A far as how much timing you can run. And of course your pistons. "

Well good for him... listening to hearsay is what got me into trouble in the first place, and not double checking.
I have showed photos that point out the coolant ports are partially blocked along the top of the cylinders. I know that can't be a good thing. Whether or not that had ANYTHING to do with pushing water, remains to be seen, but now I know these gaskets are ideal for MY setup.

BTW it is running great, if it is decent out tomorrow, I will go do some street testing.
Seacrest out!

We run 6.2L on our 408's.I thought a long time about if I wanted the gasket tight to the bore or line up with the heads.Chose the bore and no ill affects on the FI cars.

I wouldn't expect any problems with your setup at 12-14lbs,even on 93 octain.BUT I've always stayed away from L92's and run the thicker deck heads.

FYI- we always torque the ARP's to 80 ft/lbs with the ARP lube.If that helps.
