Miller 180 vs Lincoln 180 MIG
If you needed customer support or anything with Lincoln... haha goodluck on that.
If this is your first welder i would go with a Hobart, thats what i started with.
FYI
Hobart is owned by Miller and from what the Hobart rep told me at Tractor Supply they are actually made on the same line. However on the Hobart they put less "industrial" parts on them, ie the wire feed wheels I believe.
I have had allot of time on both Millers and Lincolns. I have found that any quality MIG welder SET UP PROPERLY will work the same.

PS Im not a Miller hater, I just picked up the Diversion 165 Tig so my welder choices are strickly dictated by quality. and for the 180 class mig the lincoln owns the miller.

heres mine
just happened on that when I was searching on the welder for pricing. didnt read it though. you can.
Mark
miller and lincoln are both good
the miller has auto set witch is ok
i dont use the auto set much but it is great if someone doent know how 2 set the machine yet

I used to run all Red, till i saw the arc flash, My whole shop is blue just for the reason you mentioned, MILLER generally has a slightly better arc quality over a lincoln. The only lincoln I still prefer would be an old SA 200 pipeliner red face, about the nicecst welding engine drive I have ever used.
As far as mig's, tigs and shop stick welders go, I have always prefered blue.
