Default Add another S480 Build to the ranks!

Add another S480 build to the ranks! We are building Tim99ws6’s 99 TA. “Christine”
After last years busted in half TH350 on a 200shot we decided its time to go bigger.

The goal for this car is pretty simple, 9.50’s all day long no matter the weather, track conditions/location. Also had to make 800hp and be able to make the trip down to the local car shows(and win)/cruisins.

Specs are pretty simple, Forged LS1 with 6.0 heads, Trans braked TH400, 9”, S480, and an A2W intercooler. Using Josh at KY turbos Logs with his Crossover.

We have A LOT of build pics these are some to catch you up to were we are today. Still got a LONG way to go but its getting there….

Heres the step by step way we cut back the cowl to keep it from look all hacked to shit!!!
1. Cut off front lip

2. Drill out rivets and cut out brace.

3. Trim back top cowl piece to where you want the final product to be. Then start working the lower piece up to the top. Starting on pass side and working to the driver is the easiest way. Also a small floor jack works great. DO NOT beat it in with a hammer unless you’re a great metal worker. The dents and dings will look like shit. Us a jack and a piece of wood or some scrap sheet metal.

4. Once you get it tacked in place all the way over you can start trimming the excess. It should start to look good

5. Next start seam welding and grinding. This one shows you a great example of what it starts out looking like and the final product. Down low on the right side of the pic if final product toward the middle of the car is still needing some grinding/welding.

6. for us and a lot of you FI guys will flip your intake. heres our preliminary hole. We are still working on fabbing up a “tunnel” though the cowl area. We will be using an extended/reworked firewall flange with Vbands.

7. This is the final step to really pull it all together. Sadly we haven’t got to that point lol. What you want to do is lay down a nice skim coat of body filler (Rage Extreme) and fill in any imperfections. Here is where we are at on the cowl…
