So, you literally already have the pushrods for instance? Usually you will have to wait until everything is put together to find the custom length for the pushrods to get preload proper, especially with the Morel lifters. IF you do already have all of that, I would suggest sending the heads/timing chain/oil pump/studs/UD/cam and have the long block assembled, makes life a bit easier. Sounds like you're on track =D Oh, what UD pulley do you have, you should only be putting an ATI on that badboy.

2 things. If you are really going to DD this car, you are going to hate the spool you have listed in your sig and you will more than likely run hot with that race EWP, other than that, you look like you are having fun, so carry on

you wont run hot with that electric water pump.

i used to have one on my daily driver. worked perfectly fine.

he is right about the spool. get a detroit true track. coast around corners and it unlocks.

Haha, he wasn't taking it personally at all.

I do agree with Stangs Bane though, I didn't even think about the spool, you will definitely want to get a trutrac, I have one in my 9" and its great. I would also suggest getting factory gears, and not race gears because the race gears WHINE and its LOUD. The race gears are a really hardened gear and they transmit noise like a ****.

I have not read this whole thread to see if you posted dyno numbers, but I would really like to see the car dyno sheet, making 752 rwhp N/A. When I had my Harrop it had a hard time breaking 500 rwhp. I have a hard time believe things have changed that much in a year.

Me too.

He's also using a tranny that has almost no drivetrain loss. E85 fuel so his compression is probably alot higher than yours was and its a 454ci with a large cam.

I'll ask him for the dyno sheets.

I don't want for this to come across wrong, so if it does please don't take it the wrong way. His motor does not sound like a 752 rwhp engine. My 427 12.5/1 compression ratio with ARF225 heads and 1 7/8 Kooks headers with a 265/273 648/648 cam and the Harrop was more aggressive (yes, very smooth and responsive throttle) making around 500 rwhp. 752 rwhp is crazy and I would truely love to see how he made the power. I was told by Harrop my car should have make 650+ rwhp but never came close and everyone I talked to who had a Harrop was way under powered also. I understand E85 makes more power and a 454 will make a few more ponies. If you get the dyno graph please post it as it will renew my confidence in what I believed was a good thing.

500rwhp does seem a little low for that setup. I've seen LS3's make that much with just a medium cam.

I'll post it when I ge it. And yes, I'm skeptical too. But after looking at everything its certainly possible. And the guys in Australia that told you that you should have made 650 RWHP, they're correct. They've been doing this for 5 years now, they past the 600 RWHP mark 5 years ago with nice tunes and nice idles. The ITB's are the key to the power.

But you do know there's something really wrong with your 427ci. That Harrop, when tuned properly and improperly can have huge hp ranges. Not saying that's what was up with yours, just saying.

My 427ci is 7 years old, uses a ported LS6 intake, ported LS6 heads and a stock ported TB. 11.3:1 cr and an auto tranny 4L60E. Cam is only 244/244 .610/.610 114 lsa.
I make 490 RWHP with no cats through a full exhuast. Idles like a baby.
Made 487 RWHP on a different dyno about 1 year later.

On the other hand, I know at least 10 guys with C6 Z06's (427ci) who are in the 580-610 RWHP range after head porting, cam upgrades, exhaust upgrades and a tune. M6 of course. The guys who made upowards of 610 RWHP have pretty nice cams, but definitely not as big as yours was. If these guys throw a Harrop on there with a good tune they will make another 60 RWHP. E85 and bump up the compression, and there's more power. Put a huge cam in also like you and the 454ci guy has, more power, and on top of that the 454ci guy has 27 more cubes, when in a properly built engine is good for another 32 hp right there. That does all equal up to right about 750 RWHP.

Plus, he has a mid engine set-up and that tranny he's using has minimal drivetrain loss.

He is flying to my town to tune my 454ci with the Harrop, we'll see what he does with mine. Its a 4L80E so obviously I won't get near 750 RWHP, but I'm confident I'll be at 650-680 RWHP or more. But I have to wait for the new Edelbrock heads from WCCH, whenever they are ready for shipping anyway. I'm also going E85 or race gas and high compression.
