2009 Build-Turbo 98 Cyber Gray SS-Updated pictures March 17th
I do have a couple questions:
First, sure does seem like alot of injector for your goals. Why do you feel you need the 160 AND the 100?
Second. With all the work you are doing to the car, and this is obvioulsy not some "throwing a new turbo on" type of job, AND since you are wanting to pick up @ a second in teh 1/4....why would you keep the same cam? Converter?
I mean, you see so many cars running rock bottom 7's and 6's with just set of 160 lb r's, just curious as to why you want the complexity of running the 2nd row. I mean, you can even step up to the Moran's injectors that are adjustable. Just seems like alot of work (and $$$$$$) to add that second row of injectors, when you can get what you want with just one set.
The cam and converter I can see more so than the injectors, but thought I would ask anyways. Obviously you are gonna be making and NEEDING alot more power to pick up that second you want....I would think you would want more cam to help out and more converter.
I am just simply asking some simple questions that I thought of after reading about your build. PLEASE do not take it anyway but that...a SIMPLE question is all. As I said, your car look sick, and the build looks like it is gona be a nice setup, for sure. Good luck!
Reason for the double injectors: we are going to be running E98..more injector is going to be needed to pump in more gas. The car is run off AEM so we will be able to control the amount, time, etc for the injectors. If we do run a race that E98 is not allowed will just retune for C16.
Converter was built for 1500+ hp.. why change. I worry more about the TH-400. If someone wants to donate $5K for a new glide and converter, I'm wide open for the donation.
Cam.. again it works. We have thought about going solid, but we'll try this first.
NOTHING, I mean NOTHING, is thrown together on this set up. My builder has thought everything out. There is a lot more changes. To list all of the changes would take way to much space. Money is more of a limiting factor. My sponsor has a very small shop. I supply the parts, he has been supply many, many hours of his own time. I can't thank Joey enough.

Again, I NEVER said anything was thrown together, just had a couple of simple questions.
I understand your reasoning on teh injectors more now, even though I can not completely agree with it, I understand why you want to.
I did want to add a more familiar face 1 row of injectors...Isn't Phil (of this board) running 1 row of injectors as well? 7.50's @ 190. Now, I am not 100% on that, but pretty sure. Again, I am NOT trying to argue. You want to run 2 rows of injectors, it's cool.

Converter. So, it was made for 1500 HP in the first place? So, you had too tight of a convert this whole time? Wow, car should really pick up now since you will be making the power the converter was made for.
Cam. It's cool. Run whatcha got, no problems here. When you do swap over to solid you will ask yourself why you did not do it before. Once you hit these power levels, a solid can and will pick up power across teh board. Running those ET's with a hydraulic is impressive

Again, very nice build, clean car, I like. I hope my car turns out this nice when I am done with it
Fair enough. Thanks for teh deailed explanation. I posted my above post, before I read this post.
Either way, I understand why, even though I do not necessarily agree, I do understand. hell, you are making boat loads of power, and that is all that matters, right? No matter HOW you get there, as long as you are there. And you are

Engine is together. Wiring is almost done. Cage is painted. Carpet is going in tonight. Everything is tracking OK. Power coating is scheduled to be done tomorrow (Wednesday), Thursday at the latest. Joey (my builder) is hoping to set the engine in tomorrow. Tranny was freshened up last year - only 1 weekend on it. Converter was just reflashed and cleaned - only 2 weekends on it. Rear end is still in great shape - we are going to only have to change its oil. Fuel and water tanks are completed and in; battery set-up is ready to go in. Man, Joey has busted *** on this build. Oh yea, the tires are bought just need to be mounted - ET Drag 30x10.5W front; new ET Front Runners - same rims. The M/T Drag Radials are still good for another 30-40 passes.
Only 10 days to the car show.
Still have to wait until last weekend in April for the local track to open.

Wow. Our track opened in January
It is closed for like 1 month during teh year. Dec-Jan. I lived in N.D. (Wapenton, sp?) for almost 5 months back in 1995, or 1996 I got there in May, with snow on teh ground Back on topic, car is almost there!! Obviously you will, but make sure you post up some pics when you get 'em and of course some time slips!!
Right, I understand and that was actually something I either did not see, or was not posted (about the 98) is why I was not sure on teh 2 row, and that is why I asked.
Sometimes I come off as being rude, but I just ask questions that don't make sense to me, and that is why I was trying to be VERY clear that is was just a simple question, and no more. As you can tell, I have come across some "sensitive" people on this board, and other forums for that matter

It's cool (and so is the build!!) that is why I am following this thread along
New pictures from today..
