Default Finished our Procharged 67 Nova

We are just about done with the Nova (Just need to fix a small oil leak and polish some pipes). We were pretty happy with the results:

F1R procharger
FAST XFI
Weldon 2345 pump with 160lb injectors
E98 Fuel

The power comes on VERY fast. Definatly can do some good burnouts Intake air temp are hitting 175 on the dyno. I think it would respond really well to meth injection (which we originally planned on runing without the IC), but I think the power level now is going to get us in trouble without having a full cage. We need to keep it under a 10.0.

Here are some engine bay pics:

The XFI worked really well too. It is a very good system. I think we are going to tune it for E85 and Pump gas too. The XFI will hold up to 4 maps internally, so we can just switch maps at a switch without having to have a laptop. Hopefully it will be ready to race on by April 11th for the HeadsUpNW race at PIR.

Maybe, we recently added a roll bar so we are good to 10.0 or 135mph. Before we added the supercharger it ran an 11.4 so I have a feeling we will be knocking on the door of the 9s if we can get it out of the hole.

SWEET!

Meth would certainly help the IATs. Alky Control & Snow Meth make nice, complete kits. How big is your inner cooler?

So are the lower numbers from the NA setup? If yes, and that is what went 11.4, then I'd bet you'll need to get the cage. Looks like fun!!!

We have thought about doing meth injection, but we dont want the car to go fast enough that it needs a cage. My dad just wanted something to cruise in that he could take to the track and play with. It is non-intercooled right now, which is another reason we would like to put the meth kit on it because I am sure we could drop the IATs about 80 degrees (50-60hp gain, maybe). The extra HP due to the meth might just get us kicked out of the track.

Sorry about the massive pic.

One thing we were also surprised about was how easy the FAST XFI was to tune. We have used many different systems in the past (Motec, AEM, and multiple import specific systems) and the FAST seemed to be one of the easiest to manuever and get tuned.

No inner cooler....guess I could see that in the pic IF I had opened my eyeballs & LOOKED! I would be worried aboug detonation without one or the other. How much boost you guys making?

AWSOME looking car BTW!!!

We are not that worried about detonation. We are running 10psi on E98 and I believe the compression is 10.7:1.

I have previously run 40psi on E98 in my Supra so I think we have a decent safety factor in terms of detonation with the Nova.

Charts on the AlkyControl.com website show a drop in IATs from 100+ to 60. So it would help. But I can tell you pure meth DOES add hp....to pump/race gas.

That's one sharp 2D post man. Thanks for the pic! The 66-67 Nova's one of my all-time favorites.
