That racecraft front end kit, is there a part # for the whole thing? Does it all bolt right in? Stuff looks killer, I like that alot.

Looking to purchase all that stuff this summer, if they have that all available as a complete kit that would be great. I'd like to do the k member, rack, steering shaft, upper and lower a arms, shocks, spindles too, perferrably without too much of a drop if I can avoid it. Be nice if I can reuse my existing brakes (hub style aerospace for a 4th gen)

If not, a list of part #'s would be nice

This is the prototype piece and I have to say it bolted right in. The upper and lower control arms are an inch narrower per side so it sucks the tire in under the car. The complete kit with everything except shocks weighed 43 lbs.

The reason for the shocks mounted the way they are is the **** for adjustment hits the upper control arm due to the arm being shorter.

That's cool. I'd be all for the whole thing if I could get it as a kit. I wanted to go with afco's anyway, I'd just like to be able to reuse the front brakes I already have to save a couple bucks. I'd do the spindles too, as long as my brakes can get reused.

Worst case I'd buy new brakes too... but if I can get away with what I have I would prefer to just so I'm not rebuying everything.

Badass looking build. Looking at threads like this is a love/hate relationship. I love to see a build of this magnitude but hate the fact I know I'll never be able to go that route.

Believe me I'm not made of $ either.

But, builds like this do one thing for me, gives me ideas for when I do finally have the $ to do a serious upgrade to my car, and it gives me things/ways to do it that will make it a better car in the long run.

However, the front end, I was going to purchase a k member, upper and lower a arms, rack, bump steer kit, steering shaft, lw spindles and a set of double adjustable afco's this year. That being said, if the setup that Brian's putting on this car is available as a complete kit, I'm sure which won't be cheap, but if it's available as a complete bolt in kit, I'll bit ethe bullet, buy it, sell my stock shocks, sell my aerospace hub style drag brake kit with the spindles already modified so someone can have it as a true bolt in setup, and upgrade the whole thing at once and be done with that portion of the car.

Little by little.... I'm getting my junk there. Those of us with a limited budget, that's how we get there. I'd love to be able to drop the car off with a 30K check to just do it all, but it's not pratical or possible. So... bit by bit it gets done.

Killer build guys, Brain if that frotn end is available as a kit shoot me a PM. Probably about July I'll be ready so it's not a rush item, but if it's something that will be available I'm like to take that route. Already have a motor plate in the car so that's not a concern, like I said I'd like to reuse my brakes, but if not, again not the end of the world.

The racecraft spindles use third gen style brakes and are a 2" drop spindle. I'm installing them on my car now and they are very nice and quite a bit lighter than the stock spindle. I'm not crazy about the 2" drop and I'm hoping I can raise the coilovers enough to get the car on the trailer.

just a quick question i notice this on a few cars the seat crosmember is way low, now from what i read in the nhra rulebook it has to be below shoulder height but no more than 4 inches below. is this different with a full funny car cage or what, if someone could please clarify.thanks.-tony-

Good info, thank you. 3rd gen brakes are a ton cheaper so that's good, the 2 inch drop I wasn't all that hot on either, but cranking the shocks up "should" allow the ride height to come back I'd think. Plus it's a built in travel limter too that way, which isn't a bad thing either.

It would be nice if there was a rod end on each end of the rear arm, rather then on just one side, to make setup and adjustments easier.

The rod ends are 5/8 and are set up like a strut style front end. I wont have any problem with alignment with this setup.

Thanks for the info Brian. I know alignment will not be an issue. It would just be easier to loosen two jam nuts and turn the rear rod to make adjustments.

This stuff looks like probably the easiest front end to align that I've seen.

I really hope that all this stuff becomes production parts

i like the fact that it has the least amount of bullshit on the front suspension and
k-member... everyone seems to be gusset and brace happy when making front end stuff... i really like this...

i also like the clevis end on one of the lower control arm sides... bolt together
