How come race gas prices only go up.
I wish we could all band together and file some kind of clash action suit.
It's not right.
I'm running 11:1 - and when I through some 100 octane in there its like night and day as far as pinging, compaired to super. I try to alternate every 1/2 tank, I swith from 93 to 100 and back. If I go all 100oc, my car is very happy, but dropping 100 bucks a tank makes me very unhappy. I run the stuff in my kx500 also.
The point is that thay are taking advantage of racers. The price is way out of controll. And it never drops, not 1 cent. Just goes up. What are we going to do when gas goes up to 4 bucks again this summer and race gas goes to 12 bucks. Then stays there.
I see alot of people at the track going to pump gas motors.

I remember a few years back, I had 5.3ltr heads, it was close to 12:1 CR, for ***** and giggles CARTEK put 104 in the car, after hours on the dyno, the car only made ~5hp more. It was just an experiment cause we were interested to see, clearly race fuel was not needed. Maybe your car does not need it either? Maybe tune it for 93 and see what power it makes?

It might be the old style iron heads on the L-72. As soon as I get a few bucks I'll be ready to drop the zl1 in. That has 10.5:1.

On an old school motor, 11:1 might be a lot because of the far less efficient head. Maybe you really do need 100 octane.
